You don't even have to be "selfish" to not want kids imo. It's usually not for everyone and not preferring to have any is by no means selfish when the world's already populated enough as is.

Parenthood is what it is, it's neither the worst thing on the planet like some act like, neither does it suddenly solve all universal problems and give you a life full of meaning and suddenly bam you're the best and most fulfilled person alive like others say. It's somewhere in the middle.

Just like certain food groups or game genres, it's either for you or it isn't.

like honestly while i've seen a few edgy childfree people that are just ageist assholes, most childfree people I know tend to be extremely concerned about the welfare of potential children they'd have, and that's why they choose to be childfree.
hi, it's me. I'm simultaneously that edgy selfish person who doesn't like small people (at least, not until the age they can speak in complete sentences and mostly entertain themselves) and someone who cares about the welfare of kids in the abstract, so I don't have kids because no kid deserves to grow up feeling like a burden on their parents.

heck, even my beloved cat drives me up a wall sometimes, and her emotional needs are way less complex to manage.
by "ageist assholes" i specifically do mean the extremely small minority of people who do not see children as people and want children removed from public spaces where they have every right to be. i don't think what you have posted is what i mean. i also don't consider it selfish to realize that you cannot meet the emotional and physical needs of another living being that's completely dependent on you, and then decide you cannot meet those needs. that's pretty reasonable imo.

i don't think you've been in a gaming server long enough then. the kyurem voter fraud was just a month ago. i've seen a lot of drama being a raider in WoW, causing raid teams to implode. i remember a guy randomly blocking us all one day because he was getting "too emotionally attached" and he didn't want us to talk to him anymore, and we didn't realize that was what he was doing, so we were all freaking out. you kinda have to vet gaming servers to make sure they aren't nazi havens, and i'm not even exaggerating at all. hell that's what happened to my gaming server in 2016-- we had to see who was a cool person and who was going down Q Anon pipelines.

i won't lie that a lot of RP sites exist mostly as social groups and not for posting tho, so might as well join a gaming discord. Please do not assume there will not be drama, tho, and do be careful with gaming servers. a lot of the public ones are... dubious. gaming can have great experiences, ofc, and i enjoy mine. but yeah, drama will follow u everywhere, so my ultimate recommendation is "do what your heart says" and don't worry too much about "bad experiences" b/c even if i'm pointing out the worst it can get, i also know a great many wonderful people through gaming.
I feel as if i've been in a lot of gaming servers  (zzz)  I just thought it'd be nice to have a role player specific one where people who don't have muse can still interact with others for enrichment instead of lurking on sites feeling bad for not feeling it that day/still would like to be apart of the community. Just a little cute gaming haven for rpers to relax without feeling bad for not posting that day/etc.

Being mad transparent though, as someone who has been in esports gaming servers/invited to events/servers with 100+ people for competitive games (halo, league, cod, apex) there isn't...that much drama LOL. Like maybe WoW is a different breed but the communities for the games like those are pretty chill and VERY inviting. The only drama that i've seen occur in a hot minute was aim bots/walling & then in the halo community there was a female tournament and some people argued about whether trans-women should be allowed to be involved but the community came together for that.

I guess ultimately my thing is that randoms you get queued in with and get flamed by are different than actual people that you meet outside of the game/invite into the space. If I join a lobby and smurf2025 flames me, i'm not going to take it as hard as someone that has a name in the community i'm gaming in. (it'd be like someone on a side account talking shit wouldn't bother me but if I went in a site discord to see a big name like Nines talking shit i'd be like, 'oh MANNNN todays a bad day') LOL.

A lot of Randoms are toxic yes, but I've had both irl and online only friends turn toxic real fast. So.

This is nit limited to: a friend of four years acting like people are stupid when they're new to a game he has mastered and fail to keep up with him, a friend judging and bashing what people pick in an arena fighter, a friend consistently getting competitive in a toxic way in cooperative games to the extent she steals loot and pushes others out of the way. The list goes on.

The Randoms sending me death wishes tho bc I get a character in a gacha they didn't is kinda lol funny tho.

You can make a gaming discord if you want, I'm not against that.

I Just know better than to act like gaming is any less toxic than rp, and everyone hugs and there was sprinkled donuts and bffs forever because lol no.
