So, I used to be part of this site called Mass Effect Universe a number of years ago. (It still exists, by the way, which is insane to me.) Like any enterprising preteen, I needed a way to stand out. I needed a way for people to notice me so I would make friends and make a name for myself. I needed to carve my own niche. I wanted to be the person people knew for something. Looking through old pictures, I think I have a strong candidate and would like to share it with the public so others can get enjoyment from this as well. So every new person that joined during my tenure there got a low quality meme to announce their arrival because I thought I was so clever. I tried so hard to be cool at the time. How about y'all? Any of you got any stories that make you squirm in embarrassment but are willing to share to the community at large? :eyes:

I was 16 at the time... and as many 16 year olds were, I was very "energetic" to put it nicely. I thought I and the others were having a grand old time in the chat just goofing around when - all of a sudden - I was unable to post. "Could it be my net," I wondered? Nooo, that couldn't be... My friend had the same issue and she lived on the other side of the country. After tinkering around with my net and browser, etc., I finally contacted the admin. "I can't chat on the chat D': " I cried. No response. Two hours later, I could finally access the chat and goof around with the others again...
The next day the admin posted on a resource forum. Same username, link in the signature, et cetera, it was definitely the same person. They complained about me and my friend "trolling" on the cbox, so she suspended us for two hours but "[we] just didn't seem to get it" and "didn't know what to do."
I was a bit embarrassed. I had no idea that I was suspended and I didn't know for what, so I felt a little shy about rejoining the cbox again after that. xD (I don't remember if I ever really got back into the chat.)
Otherwise, I think just being me is embarrassing I'm sorry dear members, AND I TOTALLY give... everyone nicknames, haha. So, I totally lol'd at Wolfe's first meme because it's accurate, hahaha

Hey guys, hi, hello. I've got plenty of embarrassing stories to share. Let's start out with my first rp mistake.
I started out on discussion boards in the animanga community first and foremost. Eons ago, there used to be a Yugioh discussion forum that maintained its own online dueling system and everything. So naturally, I became accustomed to the idea that everything was meant to be discussion-based, not actually making up characters and playing them. Not long after the site closed, I found myself looking for a new place, and somehow stumbled onto a Naruto site. Of course I thought it was a discussion board, not realizing it was an rp forum, so my joining username was something like "animeroxx12" cause you know, roxx was edgier than rocks, and I was 12 at the time, it made tooootal sense. After I found out it was actually an rp board, I tested it out. But you know what I did on a Naruto site?
You wanna know?
I made Bleach and Yugioh canon characters on this site. The memory of it all haunts me to this day.
--
Now this story is a bit more extreme but this is because I was a 15 year old dumbass with a big mouth and didn't consider the consequences of what I was telling this person.
I had an rp friend I talked to almost daily, little did I know that before we'd met, she'd dated the head admin of the site we were a part of, and broke up with some bad blood. Somehow the two patched things up and she helped staff the site eventually. The head admin, however, was more or less a fill-in given the main admin and his creator account had been untouched for two years due to disagreements among the staff whom had eventually driven him off, blah blah blah, filler context. But anyway, now that the background of that story's done, let me get into the juicier bits.
The head admin was dating someone new whom had joined the staff team, and I guess this other staffer had a tendency of rubbing the relationship in the old flame's face. My friend was sensible, yes, but also vindictive. So during a long, late night chat on MSN, I was joking around with her and told her, "Hey, you know what would be funny? If you deleted all the site images you're hosting for them or have made, remove all the staff members from the staff since the creator admin doesn't go on the site anymore, and close the site."
You know what she did? That exactly, except she managed to make the site redirect to somewhere else entirely on top of that. She went out with a bang and quite honestly, I admire that spite was the sheer driving force in this incident. I miss her though, she was super fun, but I'm sure she's living her best life out there somewhere.

Not going to lie, I'll probably think of some more to shove in here, but for now, just enjoy these two separate accounts.

"Most embarrassing thing" Lmfao nah but fr. There's a lot of stupid shit that I've done during my time on roleplaying, but this particular moment was more of a habit than a story that I still think was embarassing: using complicated words. The 14 year old me thought she as a smart bitch by using big and small complicated words. I would look up synonyms of certain words and use synonyms that would either make me sound smart and an "advanced" roleplayer. Instead of "cute" I'd use "winsome"; instead of "mysterious" I'd use "recondite". I was doing all I could to look smart and sound smart, but looking back at it now, my really really old posts looked like a thesaurus. Even a few people would call me out on it and damn was I a defensive little shit back then lmao.

I feel bad but the only thing coming to mind is the typos that I would make and there was another member on the site that enjoyed saving those moments. I can't remember if it was a copy and paste or if it was a screen shot but seeing as I wasn't able to edit it off already, it would forever be remembered because it was posted on a thread for all to see. I'm sure I have more but my memory isn't working right this moment.... Where is it when I need it?

back when i was a wee lass, i was a fiercely loyal mod on a warriors site that was in competition/rivals with another warriors site. i have no idea? how that started honestly- but our main admin was like, certifiably nuts. she would send spies to this other site to see what this other website was up to. and we took this all like, super duper seriously. so yeah, warriors espionage at age 11 and 12. lmaooooooooooo

TBH i wanna go back to that time ty tnt --- most embarrassing thing is just the little things like typos on announcements and stuff. all minor, but alas im crying.

I knew I was on one forever ago so I checked my emails to see. I joined one when they were 'Warrior Cats Version 8' and have message logs of forum moves all the way until version 17. They went from 8 to 17 in about seven months with a ton of forum moves before I gave up it looks like. If anyone was spying on us, I feel like they were bamboozled because the site would die and be completely moved very frequently. I tried to look at some post history but every site is now deleted, sadness.

I remember being on quite a few Warrior sites. It was great while it lasted. As soon as I figured out how to search out anime face claims, I've been hooked ever since. I remember one of the first few I joined, I winged it on writing my character because I hadn't read the books first, so looking at the Medicine Cat herb list was so intimidating. After reading the books, the list was still intimidating but at least I understood the purpose behind it. The other one that got me was the same suffixes that many of the cats despite rank, share. It is sad to see that there seems to be less now then there was back when I was rping on them.

see, the funny thing is- and Neko can attest, that the warriors rp fandom is still around. it's not as like, poppin as it was in 2008, but the thing is that the warrior rp fandom is still in 2008. so it's not that big of a deal for them? i'm convinced that they're in some sort of alternate universe, or in their own little bubble? very vivid flashbacks of trying to learn how to use gimp at the age of 12 LMAO

oh yea warriors haha, so thats where I started rping as a kid. The site is still around but not as big as it used to be, and not really warriors anymore. It was a big site, I started off squirreled away in the backboards writing one liners and when I made my front board debut I came with all my childish edginess and names like EternalDeath.
my naming sense is still not great but far better than pre-2016

You would think these are embarrassing things about the warrior cats fandom. No there are still people like that. In a sense they're exactly what they rp- or try to rp. Subterfuge, Hypocrisy at it's finest, trying to pull people from sites like it's a rescue mission cause they're convinced that site is going up in flames. While certainly there are good people in the fandom, they still act like this. Especially the graphics chunk of the population. If you don't hand-draw the fur in your graphics manipulation table or photoshop it just right, you are utter trash. It's an odd thing to see since I haven't seen such catty behavior (hahaha) in a long time. I have to say one of my most embarrassing moments was when I was on a warrior cats (very similar to one mentioned here with versions, this was like wc16 or whatever) and one of my good friends was super into it. I did my best but there was so much wrong with the people that I unwittingly walked into a minefield and in my obliviousness did several things that I regret. Though someone calling me evil and with dragons blood would become my most die-hard meme about myself that was ever created. I sounded like some evil mastermind. Really I just questioned how we log our members information cause I thought it was overkill and I don't really think logging everyone's state and IP was really needed to make sure more than one person was on one account. But I will go down with the fact I am evil for the rest of my life.

Well it is nice to know they are still out there, I just remember when I first joined I swear there were at least 20+ sites and now it seems less but maybe they die by the time I see them?
Anyways, I finally thought of a few more.
So the first rp site I joined was an animal rp site, but the three staff accounts were goddess.... When somebody went inactive I thought it sounded a lot better to let my feline attack theirs and kill it. Boy did I get a lot of views for it and some were funny but I think back and ask myself why didn't I let the account fade instead of going all in on my cat killing the other one? And I wonder why it went inactive shortly after that... x.x I understand now, promise.
Another one was when I joined my first Warrior site, again didn't read the book first but I thought it would be sooo cool to have a leader and when they went into war I allowed my cat to get injured and die.... I think she lasted a week but I couldn't lose that role so I made another one that was related to my first.... lesson learned be careful with your charries because it just looks bad when you keep making new leaders for the spot your unwilling to let go of.

The most embarrassing thing I've done on an RP site is roleplay.
