Hi, I'm Cyan and I want to screw around with things so feel free to throw something my way. I do icons, sigs, hovers, banners, ads, and templates. No skin requests.
remember to @tag my username so I get the notification.
If requesting a graphic, please give me the desired dimensions and an image to work with. In general, provide me as much information as possible (colors, any text, etc). Otherwise I'm gonna experiment and do whatever.
Graphics credit is not necessary but do credit for templates please.
Notes: No real preference one style choices. I leave it up to your creative freedom. General looks is a serious, grim business, conceited bitchy mood. No text though please! Any of those are appreciated but if you find better art that'd be cool too.
cyan not really a request but more just : tips for us who suck at cropping for graphics? pepehands. how do we make the angles and shtuff look clean and nice?
disclaimer: I'm not expert so take my advice more like guidelines than hard rules and in case anyone else is reading this too, I'm gonna add more general tips that you may already know, witchy bitch . sorry in advance if it seems like I'm saying the obvious! orz
Biggest tip, crop by aspect ratio first then resize to get your desired dimensions. Sharpen as needed to keep lines clean and crisp.
Go to your cropping tool, put in the size you want the final pic to be but then go to lock the automatic aspect ratio they give you. Keep it locked, but feel free to make the actual crop box smaller/bigger. When you're cropping by aspect ratio instead of a specific dimension, make sure that the height and width after cropping is still bigger than the final size you want. Resizing/scaling down is better than resizing/scaling up.
For actually framing your subject within the crop box, I abide by the rule of thirds most of the time for off-centered images. That's the easiest way to crop your graphics so they end up looking nice and visually interesting. Even if you're not following the actual rule of thirds, keep the lines as a guide to see how everything is divided so it makes it easier for you to play with the composition.
Centering the pic ain't bad at all but I think a centered image look best if everything is symmetrical. Look at the art in my witch hover and compare it to the art in my 5th hover with Enterprise from Azur Lane. Enterprise works better centered because everything is more center-balanced/symmetrical in comparison.
Don't be afraid to rotate pics so the subject can fit neatly into whatever framing method you're using too!
Also be aware of your final size/dimensions for graphics. For example, negative space in bigger 300x300 stuff can look good but when you resize it to a 100x100 icon, it might not look good because the subject then becomes too small to see clearly despite being the ratio of subject to negative space being the same.
Sorry for the big block of text but hopefully you find at least one of these tips helpful! If you want me to clarify or explain something more, feel free to ask.
