oooh boy, been deep in this hobby for too long... there are some peeves i can't escape no matter the generational change ,,
- villains. i love writing villains. they're my bread and butter. but i don't appreciate them being metagame'd by OOC knowledge when ICly that shouldn't be the case. that being said, metagame in general is my biggest peeve. It causes unnecessary drama, screws up the believability/realism of the thread. - speaking of villains, what happened to the purebred kind? the multifaceted kind who don't require a fixer upper home muse. who don't need a sprinkle of tinkerbell's fairy dust to feel better, to be/do good, to change alignments from evil > neutral > good. some villains aren't simply misunderstood / looking to be redeemed. many are selfish & will always put themselves first. i miss those villains. where did they go? - alternatively, i feel self-conscious like i shouldn't write that villain. sometimes it's like pulling teeth to get plots for them. normally this happens when they're a female villain with yandere tendencies, while the male almost (always) has 20 ppl vouching for that *~*~*forbidden*~*~* love. maybe my villainess wants that love too, b-baka. - when ppl guilt-trip u if they see u rping with someone else but not them. sometimes i have more muse for one thread over others. the classic "its me not u" and yet even that doesn't convince them. - when u get conned into a ship u dont want / aren't vibin' with so u have to simultaneously play 5d RP chess and walk on eggshells to get around it without hurting anyone's feelings because ur 5 planets in capricorn personality hates confrontation lol - hover templates. i used to code my own templates but now i'd rather use site provided templates.
- passive aggressive posts. u know, when ppl use their muse as a microphone to voice asinine/petty gripes because character A didn't get with their character B so now they're going to get their friends to echo this sentiment too.
- when u spend over an hour reworking a post but it doesn't sound any better than the first draft. - when ppl give their characters utterly invincible abilities/capabilities with very few weaknesses. no balancing whatsoever. [lets not make the classic sagemode sage of the six paths Juubi Jinchuuriki Gedou Rinne Tensei Super Saiyan 4 Uchiha Madara with the Eternal Mangekyou Sharingan, Rinnegan, Mystic Eyes of Death Perception, and Geass doujutsus, equipped with Shining Trapezohedron while casting Super Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann as his Susanoo, controlling the Gold Experience Requiem stand, having become the original vampire after Alucard, able to tap into the speedforce, wearing the Kamen Rider Black RX suit and Gedou Mazou, with Hashirama Senju’s DNA implanted in him].

i really dislike this new rule i'm seeing a lot of panfandoms pick up for "you can't age up an underage canon to be an adult (unless they're an adult at some point in canon)."
just. look man. you don't want me rping silver from pokemon as a minor and shipping with green who is an adult. i get this. i too do not want this. in fact, it's the exact opposite of what i want. so please, for the love of my sanity, just give me back the option to not do that- |

- first meeting threads ... please ... no they're so boring. but that being said, i've made an exception or two.
- gfx sizes that aren't 250x400 or icons sweats. ofc it doesn't matter for plotters/dev threads, especially if i'm allowed to just code my own templates for those. but for site gfx i get a bit annoyed if i have to crop a hover/image in another size.
- when people ask to plot with me but expect me to drive all the plotting and/or start threads every time
- i'm just so bad at keeping up with trackers but they're so useful to have and satisfying to complete rip
- i personally don't like plotting ships in advance usually or like ... setting out to ship two characters. i've been in situations where i thought 2 characters might have great chemistry but they ended up not really getting along or just crashing and burning. if the chemistry is there, i'm down to ship. ik this is really annoying, i'm sorry everyone ; nnn ;

I think it is okay not to write with someone for any reason, but one of my own RP peeves is when people try to "help" someone with aesthetics when they didn't ask for it. |

but if there’s one thing i can’t stand is someone who just lets they shit be bent squished or super pixelated and it’s like does that look right to u my liege u (them not u) just said dimensions and sizes don’t exist in my eyes period🙈

if the issue is because they're just slapping something in from google and calling it a day (aka it's not been cropped + resized poorly in a graphics editor), you can use the background-size: cover; background-position: center properties for a css background-image or a object-fit: cover; property for actual image tags and it will make it look as if the image has been cropped "correctly" (obviously it can't fix it you're using a 100x100 image for a 200x400 image but something's better than nothing). |
