i really enjoy writing religious characters. i'm not even sure why. i just... like the feel of having a character that is pure and just and centered around their personal faith. they go about their day to day by the grace of whatever god they believe in and find strength in spiritual words and things of that nature. (religion, to me at least, is a lot easier to deal with in fantasy life anyhow).

Although I still stick to my niche of playing 'normie-normie' characters, I've recently found the appeal of playing capable adult women.
Like, what do I mean by that? FCs like Violet Evergarden, Yukino from the Garden of Words, Moriko Morioka from Recovery of an MMO Junkie, Sadayo from Persona 5, Jill from Welcome to VA11 HALL-A, Office ladies, teachers, cooks, nannies, bosses. Women in their twenties or early thirties that have their shit put together and try to fit in this world, y'know? It's normal that they've had boyfriends or girlfriends in the past too, to erase that air of 'innocence' around anything related to love and sex stuff. And even if they are clueless and awkward, that's for the better - there's nothing more rewarding than to fluster a dutiful lady.

i also like playing characters based around satires of things or that are like, parodies of tropes i guess? im not entirely sure how to explain it.
one character i have is just based off all those 12 year old protagonists whose parents let them go off into the wild like it's nbd

I don't think I have a character 'niche' that I consistently stick with. Though I guess the most frequent would be,
Short, Angry, Smoll people.
Loud and flamboyant men
ANXIETY
I don't have time for this-types
I will beat your butt, I'll be their butt, I'll beat my own butt
Women who rule the world
Depressed peeps who try to put on a smile
ANGST
ANXIETY AND ANGST

Trolls who live under a bridge
Techies...
And Cat people. Like I think that's my most common trope is most of my characters like animals.

i cannot do dumb characters it's an issue. every time i try to make a dumb character they end up being super smart but never actually applying their knowledge. wow that doesn't sound familiar at all. i take my confession back: all my characters are just self-inserts fuck
but uh yes that's... another niche of mine: very smart characters who don't use their knowledge in any way that benefits others |
