[nospaces] I'm aware systems are not for all, however I was curious to know your thoughts on the matter. [break][break]
I have a love-hate relationship with battle systems in RP forums. I love joining forums that have it because for me it adds an extra layer to the game. [break][break] Where does the hate part come in? First and foremost in trying to create one myself. Getting to that sweet spot of simple + fun is harder than I could have ever imagined.[break][break]
In the past systems that I have enjoyed were simple and required little math (cause I hate math). [break][break]
What about you? Do you enjoy systems? How come? [break] What are things that you think make a system work? [break] What have you liked about a system? Alternatively, what have you disliked about them? [break]Have you ever tried building a battle system yourself?

This thread might be of interest to you, Mads. Personally, I like systems if they're simple. My site has a levelling system based on post count (the very last tier is based on post count + other IC requirements, so I will have to manually change their level; this is to stagger the faster posters & add some IC context), and I think that is nice enough. I made it work by using the member rank system. Keeps it simple and it encourages posting. (: I've tried a stats forum once ( almost a decade ago ) and it was a bit too complicated and "in your face" for me. I did have fun distributing points, though. XD
