Once this beautiful nation lay in turmoil, its districts in an uprising against the Capitol. Leading only to war, grief, hunger, and tragedy the country was left dishonored. The Dark Days obliterated a once proud nation, bringing it to its knees in civil war. In tatters, the districts fell to the Capitol and once more order was restored. Now, to pay for their crimes and to be reminded of the Capitol's power, each traitorous district must submit a tribute of each gender to the annual Hunger Games. Every child between the ages of twelve and eighteen is eligible, absolutely nobody is safe.



It is the Capitol's mission that the districts will act in unison to support them while being allowed to build their own industry. But there are those who believe that the cruelty of the games is much less an honor than a crime against them, that the struggles they face will never be assuaged if they continue to put their trust in the Capitol. In the dark corners of Panem, words are spoken that bear consequence in the light of day, and those with their eyes open see through the Capitol's propaganda.



For the 120th time, the names will be drawn, the tributes will be reaped, and entertainment and punishment will ensue.
