Confess here your roleplaying sins.
I will start. I really like the way templates look on a page, but regardless of how it looks I always rip the text out and paste it without formatting into a google doc so that I can highlight text and read things easier. It is a part of my writing process that makes me feel a bit bad for how much hard work people put into making something awesome. I still use and make templates myself because I like them, but it is basically wrapping paper for me.
I also don't reply in order. I try to make sure I post back at a reasonable pace but I am able to write faster overall if I go with writing the post I am feeling most first.
Remember not to attack anyone or call people out.

I am notorious for forgetting threads. - doesn't mean I don't like our thread. - doesn't mean I don't love your character. - doesn't mean I am not having fun. - doesn't mean you aren't freaking amazing.
It means... - I got busy in between doing things and forgot? - I got busy dealing with a full time job, husband, home and cats and forgot? - I remembered but I am so exhausted and drained to post - I end up forgetting...
Consensus - You are amazing and I don't deserve you as a posting partner. - I am a piece of gutter trash and I am not worthy of your roleplaying kindness lol

Iota's novella:
-If I struggle to read someone's template, I curse the RP gods and continue the struggle while forgetting I can just copy/paste into a word doc XD
-I try to post to all my threads in order, but if I find one thread easier than the other, I reply to that first as a warm-up
-I'm female, but I can't play female chars.
-I've always wanted to RP a lesbian, but ^ I can't. |: I've tried numerous times... and my char always fell for a dude instead. Meanwhile, I've played male chars who are attracted to females (and dudes). Why am I cursed???
-Almost all of my chars are incompatible with ships but I really want a ship!
-I'm super lazy with apps unless rules disable me from being lazy. And then I put in some effort. I just wanna RP
-When I make multiple chars, I try to make things even. Say I have four chars, my chars will consist of: two short haired, two long haired, two tall, two short, two x-faction, two y-faction, etc.
-Even though I try to diversify hair colour and looks for my chars, I'm always attracted to well-trimmed black haired chars... ._.
-I love oneshots
-I totally assign zodiacs and whatnot to my chars, and then look up their compatibility horoscope with other peoples chars just for fun XD

-Im in the same boat at 「イオタ」 in the terms of not being able to play female characters... I used to, but I just cant these days. -I cannot keep interest in straight relationships when it comes to romance between my character and someone else... I just find it boring with a boy/girl relationship happens. I dont know why! -I always think everyone posts better than me when I've been told that my posts are fine... Im my own worst critic. -This is the worst sin of all..... I nitpick the hell out of a character if I find something that doesn't make sense. This happens a lot on this other place I rp... I just drives me up the wall when people do things to their character that they think is cool, and is cool.... in a way.... but they dont think, they dont care.

Eeeeey so this is the kind of thread I remember on either WW or GS (Don't remember which one) that cause A LOT of problems, so just wanted to reiterate that don't specifically target someone, and think about what your saying and make sure it doesn't seem like it'd attack someone.
Anyway here's mine
- I prefer playing female characters cause I like to look at Female FCs more than male
- Sometimes I let my emotions get into my writing and if I'm sad I could accidentally turn a happy thread into a sad one - But normally I don't write when I'm feeling really down. But the way I do this A LOT is I'll post when I'm hungry and then my character will be REALLY hungry... xD;;
- I love to play flirty characters but I don't know how to flirt <<;
- When I'm unsure on a FC I always default to looking at FATE FCs
I'll probably add more but I gotta run

- I get really bored easily, it isn't that I don't like you, but if nothing is happening in our thread I lose interest very fast. Which makes me tend to do a 360 and pull a dragon out of a hat (if I am allowed). I love crazy adventures.
- I never forget to reply to a thread, but sometimes I really have no motivation to reply or I just forgot. Months later, you will have a reply and you will wonder what the potato happened.
- I play a lot of female characters, I just find them easier than males? I find it funny how I actually have a bunch of male characters just never created.
- romance threads bore me unless we are swimming away from sharks and our lives are in danger.
- I hate how events have been handled now. Don't get me wrong, I get that its easier for staff to handle big site events when it is in one thread, but it's really frustrating and overwhelming as a member when you are trying to follow the site plot and half the people either ignore your character or are making out in the corner lol.
- I miss the roleplay forums that didn't care about templates and just focused on writing. I don't know how templates came so important in roleplaying, but I do like them so don't get me wrong.
- I always have a theme whether its for a character or how they were made. For example, Dahlia, Freesia, Hawthorne (one theme: flower names) but each character had their own theme when I created them.

- i start writing projects and then never finish them. most of the time they're much, much bigger than i could ever achieve and half-assed ideas that never really see the light of day again. your christmas drabbles are not doomed.
- 10000000000000000% i prioritize certain threads over another. i find writing for certain people easier than others; that says absolutely nothing about how much i like your writing, or your characters, or our plot. certain styles just mesh with my thought process better and allow me to really bounce off of them. - i try to sprinkle my posts owed in a list that flip flops between "hard to write" and "easy to write" - for real: being hard to write for is not a bad thing
- i'm not a big fan of templates
- i don't really care about gender ratios? or if i rp more males than females. i know a lot of my characters on ct are men but i try to think of it as the personality and idea of the character as having formed strongly one way or another. most of the time it's how i like x fc fitting y personality.

was gonna do dot points like the cool kids but i've rewritten this as one large point because a lot of it ties in together.
oftentimes i am looking to simply explore my own character, or else get them from point A to B developmentally. it can mean that my plotting is self-absorbed and that i am not as invested as i should be in the objectives of the people i roleplay with, which is the chief thing i am attempting to correct in my roleplay at present.
additionally, because of my own objective-based headspace, this will often funnel storyline importance into one or two threads where my character is interacting with, say, their lover at the time. these threads are frankly most always the most exciting and inspiring, and so even though i get anxious/jealous when someone skips me in their 'reply order', i will occasionally skip over somebody else to get back to that 'story' thread.
on an unrelated note, i am far too reticent to carry the setting of a thread forward, because it often calls for depth descriptions of new characters/locales, and that gets exhausting fast, so i just hold out until the other person inevitably does it (or doesn't, hahaaaaaa orz).

Man, I probably wouldn't have even thought to talk about this without seeing it; Because of my obsession with romantic shipping that represent my own preferences, I tend to avoid sites with gender ratios that skew heavily male because I tend to make straight dudes, and, occasionally, lesbian women. Other than that, well, for any admins reading, in the past, if your site looked half-decent, I likely joined it, made a character, and maybe made one or two posts before ultimately bailing. Usually due to low motivation/laziness. I was once told I was a "notorious site-hopper" (which I actually found pretty funny, but that's beside the point). In any case, I'm sorry. I'm sure having people come and go is extremely annoying.

here's my big rp confession:
I don't get the whole muse thing and I never will. I either want to write, or don't want to write. Muse has nothing to do with it, especially because I have no idea what the heckity muse even is.
I'm also a huuuuge site hopper but that's either bc 1. your community was unwelcoming or 2. your mod team was dysfunctional so (big shrug) I just don't have the time to put up with nonsense any more

It's funny that you bring this up actually because it's got me thinking; I'd say muse (or lack thereof) is just the feeling you described, but for rpers, like, our lexicon, somehow? It's a word I learned from rping, and a word I associate with the hobby so much that I don't ever use it outside of that context; I never say I don't have the "muse" to write an essay, for example. I suppose I also low-key associate it with musical accompaniment of one's post since the first I saw it being used regularly would be in people's post templates; if you see a hyperlink of the word "muse" in someone's post, you can safely bet your soul that you're going to be linked to some music on youtube that person liked. I appreciate this admission, fox; it's interesting to think about how certain aspects of, at least my own language, have been shaped by pretending to be animanga characters on the internet. Rping is great.
