I just had the most violent drink of water of my life.

I drink a mouthful, it starts going the wrong pipe and my body tells me I need to spit it out or bad things happen. The immediate point to spit it out is my computer, so I stand up and take a few steps before spitting it out in/around the sink for easier cleanup and then just cough over it for like 5mins.

Today I learned that my instinct to not destroy my computer is stronger than my will to not drown. I also learned that I am perhaps the worst water drinker of all time.

Today I learned that there is a language called Honk that can translate eight identical sounding (only to those not fluent in the language) honks into a full introduction post. I feel like this is the most efficient language of all time, first of all, so I applaud you for showing it to us.

Second off, welcome to Pixel Perfect! I hope you enjoy your stay here as much as I have the past few months!

Third off, good choice in profile images. It just reminds me to continue to be hype for CFVY book releasing soonish and almost distracts me from the fact you just admitted to pouring milk in before the cereal. Almost.

When people volunteer and are excited to run small story lines for other members.

I always feel squirrely about including my own characters in scenarios and threads I DM for, so I love when I can just pop in and be like 'yay nobody can accuse me of metagaming because I have no idea what's going on' and I don't have to intentionally do the wrong thing to make it obvious I'm not doing it and can just kinda do the plot.

That being said, I'm legitimately terrible at mysteries and puzzles so it won't even be me intentionally doing it badly. It's just me being bad at them.

Will update this as more requests are made and requests get taken, but this is for a non-canon RWBY AU set 25 years after the Great War and focusing on the students of Haven Academy. The Remnant Project has been up since early February and I can personally guarantee some threads with all the characters listed below because they're the ones I want to see played.

Full Wanted Ad here for Rose..

Rosalia Phoenix is a Vacuo native, former bandit, and a wild card in every sense of the word to say that Rose is rough around the edges is an understatement. Her skill in combat is helped entirely by her semblance that allows her to brute force her way through problems alongside a natural strength that is well above the average that allows her to just physically manhandle most people.

Rose's semblance is tentatively named Marauder and is a Physical Boost semblance that ups her speed and durability for as long as it is activated. FC is Mordred from Fate/Apocrypha and the character is very similar. No shame.

Scarlett Blake was the #2 ranked student coming into the 15th Mistral Regional Tournament from Arcadia Academy. She originally hails from the City of Kuchinashi in southern Mistral and lost her parents during her first year at Arcadia due not to Grimm attack but to a fight between criminals that spilled over into the street. Bullets charged with fire dust were fired into the family home at night after missing their original target… and the rest was history. She's good because she has to be, because she has nothing left but this. There's no home to go back to, and the redhead never was the type to give up and get a desk job when she was so close to reaching her goal of becoming a Huntress.

Scarlett was described the taller end, being 169 centimeters tall and weighing in at around 60 kilograms. Her bright red hair was usually tied up in a ponytail, though she had enough hair to where not all of it exactly cooperated in the effort. She wore a black jacket that was partially zipped up, with the beginnings of a black t-shirt with the logo of a popular rock band partially showing beneath it. Partially torn up black jeans covered the girl’s legs, and her left hand had a black fingerless glove on it while her right hand was completely uncovered. The gloved hand had a black thermos in it that she often drank coffee from, and brown boots completed the ensemble to the outfit she wore to the tournament itself.

Her weapon is basically just Oobleck’s Thermos and her semblance, Blaze, is a Manipulator type that allows her to create and manipulate fire. In her tournament loadout she also had Durability and Martial Arts combat abilities, setting herself up as a turret type who wasn’t very mobile but could take and dish out punishment in equal measure. She made it to the semi-finals of the tournament before being knocked out and entering Haven Academy as a high rated prospect.

Previous FC is Adriana from Black Survival, but any redhead would work.

Rebekah Snowe is the third daughter of the Snowe family, who run Snowe International -- the largest textile company in the Kingdom of Mistral. As a child, she was very close to her grandfather who had fronted a large sum of money for Haven Academy in the aftermath of the Great War. He was a storyteller, someone who could teach the history of Remnant and all of its heroes better than anyone. Her grandfather did not fight in the Great War, but had a deep respect for those that did and mentioned several times that he regretted that he was too scared to go when so many others died doing the duty he was wealthy enough to pay his way out of.

His favorite stories, though, were about those heroes who braved the Grimm. The vision of the Huntsman Academies was something that he took very seriously, and he was very involved in fundraisers for Haven Academy until his death from illness some five years ago now. He had expressed to Rebekah before that he hoped the legacy he would leave would helping create a strong Huntsman Academy in his home Kingdom to make up for the guilt and shame of being a draft dodger in the Great War. In his final days he was very concerned about his legacy, and unfortunately all of his worst fears came to light at the funeral.

Her parents were always too busy with work or the heir of the family to spend any time with her, so Rebekah's grandfather was really all she had in terms of family and they were very close. At the funeral, she overheard some distant family trash talking her late father figure -- calling him things like a disappointment and a draft dodger and bad for the business and Rebekah just... snapped. Her semblance activated for the first time, with bright blue lines appearing over her body as she blitzed over and threw a punch that thankfully missed. It had enough force behind it to make a small hole in the stone floor... and she had enough durability with her semblance that her hand was completely unaffected. She was carted off rather quickly, and sent off to Sanctum Academy in Argus later the same year to prevent any more... misunderstandings.

Her grandfather was swept under the rug and largely ignored since his death, but soon after she was shipped off to Sanctum Rebekah made a promise to herself -- that if no one else in the family was going to help build the world her grandfather envisioned... she would do it herself. She had the opportunity to come back on the condition that she fall in line, but has refused every time. Rebekah would become someone who couldn't be swept under the rug, and make her own name for herself independent of her family. She was going to honor her late grandfather's legacy by becoming a huntress and doing the things he was incapable of doing and attending the school that he helped fund to do so.

Rebekah's semblance is tentatively named Rage and is a Physical Boost semblance that ups her strength and durability for as long as it is activated. The anger activation could be a regular thing or it could be just an accidental way to activate the semblance. Speed and Martial Arts combat abilities would round out the build very nicely, and weapon choice is up to the player.

FC suggestion is Luviagelita Edelfelt from Fate/hollow Ataraxia

When you lay out the balance reasons for why the system is the way it is, and people try to argue reasons that have nothing to do with what you just said.

I don't care if it's not 'superpowered enough'. I'd rather my combat system work in a play by post format, and I hate when people use either 'realism' or 'everything else is superhuman' and just ignore very valid reasons why. This very rarely happens, but every time it does it grinds my gears because they just talk past you and try to make it seem like you're the unreasonable one.

Someone could post up with a rifle a few miles away and wait for their mortal enemy to sit on the pooper to off them in the most uninteractive way possible. That's realistic, it could happen. In a superpowered setting, maybe that extends to a few more miles out. Maybe ten. That sure as hell isn't happening on my site, though, because in no universe is that engaging roleplay meant for a play by post forum and I'm sticking to that.

I do a singular @everyone ping on Discord about once every two weeks for announcements, and without fail every time I do it a lurker leaves the Discord.

I like to think that they just have a bajillion servers and wait for pings in order to figure out which ones to leave. The mental image is just funny to me. It's always instantaneous too, which makes it even more peculiar.

thinking of making a site with influences from SAO, fire emblem, and other fantasy MMOs that focuses on a "Game aspect" such as leveling, raids, spawns, etc. Definitely going with the "stuck in virtual reality/sao" idea. Definitely looking for some feedback/ideas of what people might like to see?

Gimme them guilds.

I want that old WoW experience so bad when everything was new and I was running around taking every random green like it was a gift from God and the world was large and scary. Introducing some guild/group system to encourage it both groups people up for threads better and makes sure characters form bonds and are more likely to stay for the long term.

Hardcore Leveling Warrior is a really good webtoon that has an interesting spin on this concept as well, shameless plug of something I've been following for a year or so now.

I got invited for a social thing at a friend's house recently, and I walk in and all of their pets just swarm me. 2 dogs and a cat just swarm me the entire time I was there basically.

Animals are the best. That was the self-esteem boost I needed, because at the end of the day I can always take up animal whisperer apparently if nothing else works out.

The length of time for some people's grudges really, really astounds me. I worked at a place for a month before I quit once, and almost three years later they wrote this very long letter saying why I wasn't qualified for any employment ever when asked during a routine past employer check.

It's come to the point where I have to say it up front because I know it'll happen, but thankfully I've got some much more difficult job experience now to back up that I'm not a hopeless idiot and it begins to look like the sour grapes that it is. Now that I know it'll happen every time in the future, at least I can prepare for it so it doesn't come as a surprise for me -- which I'm sure looked bad because I legit had no idea they'd even remember who I was let alone go that far.

I didn't even get any official discipline or anything, I was really just pretty average and can't even remember why I made them so angry other than giving my two weeks.

Yo what the heck.

I thought astrology was just like the one sign. Now I find out I got an animal and a moon sign and a rising sign and everything?

So I go to look everything up. I know I'm a Pisces Sun sign, now I find out I'm a Scorpio Moon sign, Aquarius Rising -- I also see people referencing cool animals like whoa tigers and dragons and whatnot so I go and look up my astrology animal...

A lemming. So I noticed people saying Chinese signs, right? Maybe mine is better! Nope, year of the Pig.

Then I read all of them and it was pretty scarily accurate.
