I've been having a lot of dragon age thoughts lately, and I've been feeling frustrated that a site has never cropped up that fits the kind of thing I'd like? So I'm gonna do a rambly pitch for a site that's mostly self indulgent, but that maybe other people will want to get in on?
- Jcink hosted, 3-2-3, probably premium since I have some slots left on my sub
- No canons, this will be an OC only roleplay
- Non-canon plotline, I want to play in the world without having to worry about all the choices the MC's made in the games, I want it to be accessible to people who haven't played/finished the games also.
- Face claims will be optional, you'll be able to either use game screenshots(from dragon age or other fantasy games) or aesthetic images that fit your character.
- no word count, very relaxed activity based on a roll call system where you just have to give a heads up that you're around and make note of any dropped characters

The shaky premise I'm working on is a section of Thedas(location pending) where a large city, farming settlements, a large commune of Dalish that have settled down, and perhaps a circle tower are all on a shaky truce, the amount of drama and potential strife that comes from these very polarized groups would largely be left up to the players, it's meant to give a plot of some fashion without tying the site down too heavily to a set timeline. 

This is all pretty subject to change, it could wind up being a canon-divergent thing set after Inquisition as well, regardless it'll be OC only I'm just still on the fence about what kind of setting I want to do plot wise.

I can answer from my perspective? Sometimes I join Discord servers just to get a feel for the community because there isn't like a widget or anything I can peek at on site, if I ghost and just dip a lot of times it's not because you're community is BAD I just don't personally jive with it! It's very VERY rarely anything personal, for me at least! Ymmv of course! ^^

My two closest friends spent 8 hours ignoring me completely to play Ark together and then went directly to bed without saying a word to me, which would be fine if it wasn't my birthday and no one bothered to even acknowledge that. Really makes you realize how little you mean to the people around you. Oh well I guess I'll just...Sleep all day.

Yanno I can tolerate main character syndrome to a degree in pbp forum roleplay, I don't like it, but I can tolerate it.

In DND Though? Nothing kills my vibe for a game more than having that ONE PERSON who has to do everything say everything solve everything and just generally take the spotlight? I like to play as well but it's pretty obvious who the DM's favorite is lol.

I was pretty on the fence about keeping it western only anyway so I'm not particularly against it being more than just western animation if that ends up being the idea I go with!(because upon further reflection if I did that how would I ever play Venti/Albedo? Criminal.)

E. Pirates and fantasy
Seriously there's not many good pirate RPs out there much less pirate RPs that are illustrated FCs, I would probably make this one a high fantasy sort of RP, the bulk of the roleplay would take place on a couple of coastal ports with an extra board for people to RP on their respective ships at any given time. This is going to be a roleplay that allows a lot of fantasy races, basically if it exists in DND it'll exist here.

There will definitely be fantasy elements with that one! Thought about each kingdom/clan having their own specific kind of magic! And yeah cat ears FOR SURE, I'll honestly probably be fairly relaxed with how much cat features a character has? Like they can just have cat ears, ears and a tail, furry limbs...Just some kind of humanoid cat of some kind is what I had in mind! Of course face claims wont HAVE to have visible feline features, I'd probably add a place where people can describe their character's feline features.

I would put this in QIC but I wanna do a poll which is easier to do in it's own thread, I have a fairly solid idea for each of these concepts I'm just seeing which one happens to grab people the most?

A. Redwall
This one is pretty much what it says on the tin, it'll be a redwall site taking place in Mossflower wood, the bulk of the roleplay will be sed in Redwall Abbey itself with a few other locations thrown in. It'll be largely slice of life with some adventure thrown in.

B. Humanoid Warrior Cats
Saw this idea and wanted to kind of put it out there? It would likely take place in a semi medieval setting with the four clans being rival kingdoms or something similar, I'm using canon clans(IE. Riverclan, Thunderclan, etc.), but it'll be OC only.

C. Darker HTTYD Roleplay
Inspired a bit by Assassin's Creed Valhalla? I admit this one has the least amount of solid ideas for it, but I just like the thought of a HTTYD roleplay set in a much more gritty and realistic setting? Still a dragonrider forum at heart, this one would have canons.

D. Potterverse inspired Disney/Other 'pandandom'
This isn't going to be a literal Harry Potter roleplay, but the setting and set up will take some inspiration from it? It'll essentially be a magic school where the students and teachers are canons from Disney/Dreamworks/Other animation, I don't know if it'd end up being JUST focused on western animation? Either way it'd be sort of a spirits site but...Not? You'd play the character as they look and with the same name, but their stories and background would be as if they'd always lived in that world.

It's not required, but if anyone votes I would love to know what draws you to a particular idea and what else you might like in a setting like that? I know what I want to do for them but it's nice to hear other opinions!

A warrior cats roleplay involving canon characters set after the first book so that the story after that is largely open ended? The fire alone prophecy still exists BUT how it ends up playing out might end up different? Different characters could potentially be villains.

Eventually I would probably manually move the forest cats to the lake as per the plot.

Idk I just want to do warrior cats but like with canon characters?

Another idea is to set it at the start of the clans arriving at the lake? I might do that instead but playing out the exodus there could be fun...I dunno!
