We are a Heart Gold/Soul Silver Pokémon RP based heavily on the games, but you do not need to have played them to enjoy ZapdosZulu! We have comprehensive guides, our own original quest lines, adjusted wild encounters on every route for an array of Pokémon to catch early on, and a wonderfully supportive, open, and friendly community from many corners of the world!

Trying to get myself in the habit of reading every day, just to give my brain a little more routine and because I have a shelf full of books that are sitting unread. On Day 3 so far.

The first chosen book? The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood. At the top of the list because it's on loan from someone else.

I've been stalking looking through the other site-search ads, and none of them quite fit my specifications, so I decided to make my own. I'm a longtime pokeposter and I have a Pokemon site I'm happy with but... why not try to get into some other stuff? Regarding myself: I'm pretty much glued to the Internet all week. I love talking about character ideas. My average word count is 200-600 per post, and I tend to be drawn to wacky adventure plots with humor, but I'm open to more serious drama too.

The must haves:
+ Animanga faces only, or no face claims
+ Plot-driven site, or one with preexisting plot hooks rather than being entirely member-driven
+ Active, welcoming discord (or other chat medium) that doesn't mind lurkers who take forever to app a first character
+ Active site that allows for sporadic activity. I've had my best fun in places where some people are lightning posters but not everyone has to be.

Not hard dealbreakers but I'd appreciate:
+ Lore-light original fantasy, sci-fi, or paranormal (fandom sites are ok, but anything from canon the player is assumed to know counts as 'lore')
+ Small community with a limit on characters per person
+ Platonic want ads

Stuff I don't care about one way or the other:
~ Your forum host
~ Systems (just don't make me do a bunch of math every post)

Stuff I specifically don't like:
- Slice of life
- Panfandoms, or sites where people are expected to play canons instead of ocs
- Shipper apps or shipping-oriented sites

In the same vein as the previous isekai mentions, just once I'd like to see a video game isekai populated by characters who actually behave like people who enjoy and play video games. Far too often it's only Protagonist-kun having to explain to everyone else how he pulled off this or that game exploit while the side characters 1) flail around uselessly like idiot teenagers or 2) treat the whole thing as SRSBZNZ as real life and in doing so fail to respect how the game conventions differ from real life.

And in general, I'm so tired of male led isekais in general. Can I please just get one goddamn isekai that has a female lead and isn't harem/romance. At this point I don't even care if it's wish fulfillment trash. Let me have my power fantasy without having to project my asexual definitely-not-male self into a straight male (or a straight female), please.
