Back at it again. Although this time, instead of the usual, I come seeking potential aid. On the hunt for a few potential staff members to help keep Burn The Soul in rotation and known throughout the community. Very simple tasks, nothing too time consuming or taxing (I think. Probably the biggest help I could ask for. I'm not the savviest when it comes to optimal advertising. So if anyone has spare time to advertise the site I would greatly appreciate it! I will still be helping in the advertising ofc, but again, I'm probably not the best at it lol. Aside from general advertising, the advertising mod(s) can tend to the first links that are posted on the site as well. Affiliations too, if you want. (Those I can do. it's ez pz)

Secondly, I would like to ask for a few mods to help run events. Nothing major, just creature spawning and modding. As previously mentioned in the post about the site forever many moons ago, there is a beast spawning system implemented that makes for easy dropping of the creatures as well as a bestiary list that gives information on said beasts. This aspect of the job would only be required around site-wide events and for threads that members wish to have staff/modded influence in. So I expect it to also be a rather lax task. And again, I still will also be modding and spawning beasties as well.

With that self-promo out of the way, hey hello hi it's koji coming at you with a new project. BURN THE SOUL (also known as BTS or B#RN) is an animanga magic-based roleplay that takes place in New Paris (shout out to Halation) within the year of 2070. Members will be allowed to create characters known as "Vessels". Vessels are humans who have become the host of spirits from times past with expanded lore surrounding their existence (King Arthur, Dracula, Frankenstein's Monster, Cleopatra, etc.) and use magic that attributes to that spirit. Here is a small exert from the plot synopsis.

โ The Phoenix soars through the void of existence. Spreading its energy, bestowing magic, searching for a fitting body to host its great and tremendous power. It is the law of cycle, it acts as the only universal law. It seeks sentience. It knows of its purpose, the guardian of creation. But it believes itself to be much more than that. Bound by no law, it can do whatever it desires. But it chooses to bide its time. To allow life to flourish, to grow, and expand about the universe. As a formless mass of energy, it had become worshipped by all of the universe's inhabitants. Though few have seen the true form of The Phoenix, all know of its existence. Of its power. And they all fear The Judgement of The Phoenix, the power to cut and re-grow any part of the universe, as well as destroy it entirely if it deems so. But it seeks not destruction. It seeks what it cannot grasp. โž

Alongside boasting both PVP and PVE potential, B#RN will have two monthly events going each month. One will be a more combat-focused event. Which could range from bashing monsters in hordes to a search and destroy of a large nuisance within New Paris. The other will be a more lax prompt. Catering to those who want to take things at a slower pace.

There will be a loose leveling and spell/ability system. Vessels and spells will follow the D - SS Ranking system. D being the lowest, SS being the highest. A simple and very easy to understand system with an included guide for good measure. At B Rank Vessels gain access to their first Tiro Finale (think Noble Phantasm if you're familiar with the Type-Moon Fate/ franchise), an ultimate attack that can cause devastating effects! Vessels will also align themselves with a Guild. Think of it as an umbrella term for a faction. There are two Guilds for vessels to align themselves to, Eden and Genesis.

Please note that just because your vessel is under the alignment of that guild, they are not obligated to follow the guilds mantra and mission statement to the letter.

In regards to gaining stronger abilities, spells, and ranking up; there is a shop system in place. You gain gems and trade them in for wares that the shop offers. The shop itself will have seasonal items as well as chance items. Certain purchasable items carry varying rarities and use Icly. So be sure to stock up when you get the chance.

Gems can be earned by posting. There is also the Mission system. Members can participate in story-based missions to earn some extra gems here and there, as well as creating their own. Don't worry, there's a guide for this too. I gotchu' fam. In tandem with the mission system, we have implemented a Beast Roll system courtesy of and his efforts (A HUGE help thank you lawd). Allowing members to generate random creature encounters within their threads and missions!

I honestly hard agree with everything except for ProBoards... no offense to PB or anything but I skin for Jcink and I'm much more familiar with its system, just a matter of personal preference so if I ever do start up this as a side project, it'd probably be on Jcink.

To add on to this list, character sorted by an elemental alignment because I'm a sucker for that shit. Like in Magia Record's mobage with Light/Aqua/Flame/Forest/Shadow, etc. 

Also apps are just fill out the main profile custom fields, post once on the board and you're good to go because I don't want this to be an incredible effort and investment of time just to get into the game.

Anyway yeah that's it for my ramblings. I'll probably sit on this idea for another week or so and if I'm still super into it, something might happen. I dunno.


I had a site with a very similar premise once upon a time. So if anyone pursues this, hmu. I can assist.
