I did make a post about it in the Quick Interest Checks thread, but I figured now I should make a full thread since there is some interest on and off the site. Hopefully, I can get all the main points across here! And if there's questions or suggestions feel free to tell me and I might implement them if I feel they'd work.

An Original Superhero/Superpower Roleplay

"Welcome to Purity City, the proclaimed Superhero Capital of the United States. This bustling city is located comfortably on the shoreline of Sunny California, sitting just miles away from Los Angeles. No matter where you go, you might see someone running close to the speed of sound, or lifting vehicles ten times their size with ease. You might even see an alien or two, and with so many people like this in one place, things are bound to get interesting."

The site is going to be heavily member and story-driven. What this means regarding how things work is that staff and members will have the ability to create side missions in which will help shift the influence of a particular side. These missions will help build points to either side; After an extended period of completed tasks, a big staff-run sitewide event will take place that could solidify one side's influence or make a complete 180 and have any of the other parties suddenly take more control. If one side has a lot of power, exciting or possibly horrifying things could happen that could change the overall atmosphere of Purity City, as well as NPC treatment of characters of a certain side. It will even affect how the site's skin will look, switching to represent who has the most influence.

• Superpowers in unMASKED! can affect how the characters look and function AKA they can look like a total freak if you really wanted them to.
• The ability to create custom lore for existing species or your original species.
• The ability to create groups/factions/organizations complete with boards in which threads can take place.
• The ability to create boards that serve as homes/bases for characters.

I might as well put this here first to see if there's a couple of likes and what not on this before making this into a full thread with details.

But my idea and this has been in my head and worked with for about a year going on 2, is a Superhero/Superpower RP in which the characters can profoundly influence the world and setting. By that, I mean all the different sides can have a significant influence on the world around them and how that world views them via a favorability system.

By completing small "side quests" if you will, characters can slowly shift the influence of Heroes, Villains, Neutrals, what have you, and then the larger sitewide events can change a side's control. Favorability ratings will also affect how NPCs (like the Police, Newspaper, and Government; staff-controlled of course.) can treat them and characters affiliated with that side (for example: if Villains have more influence, the Police are less likely to go after them for their crimes or even help heroes take them down. Primarily, if you want villains to have more reign in the city, this takes place in, then go for it. If you want heroes to have more reign, then go for it.

The actions of characters could cause Villains to be highly scrutinized and sought out by authorities, or heroism could be made illegal a-la the Incredibles depending on what you do.

But yeah, that's the main thing with this one.

I've had my art stolen before but I never really minded it... I remember when it was brought up to me by a concerned watcher at devi I felt more like, "Wow, they liked my art enough to do that?". lol

Yeah, China is an egregious offender, unfortunately. People joke a lot about how some Chinese companies will steal your art and put it on merch to make money off it, but like, it's kinda true sadly. They perpetuate that stereotype. Good thing though is that you have to be pretty big in the art community to get on their radar (unless I'm wrong about that, please correct). And I would be livid if someone was getting more attention and money off my artwork. It hits me close to home man, because, like that's money I could use to support myself and my fam. qwq
