one of my favourite, new, characters to roleplay is natsuko. first off, i got to use a claim for her i've never had a chance to snag before and secondly, she's a brat. she's obsessed with the kendo captain of her high school and follows that lovely anime trope of being the overbearing, over-enthusiastic leader of the unofficial fanclub for this guy, goes around demanding other girls follow the rules and calls him the prince lmfao. she's got some fun rivalries going on and will crush you (in her mind at least) if you speak ill of the dude she's devoted to. she's currently housed on a 90s shoujo themed site so that really influenced a lot of her personality and character but god she's so fun to write.

Now that I got the fire of posting quickly and concisely written under my ass…
One of my two main characters, the Head Ranger on a Pokémon site I’m on just had a comeback and Arceus it is fucking glorious. Keeping things short and sweet between him and whoever he is posting with is actually a way to get that fire lit up to go, go, go posting!
Adding to that the poor idiot is going through some serious character development now so that is a definitive plus to these kinds of things, so—

OKAY BUCKLE UP LADS CAUSE IM ABOUT TO TALK ABOUT A CHARACTER I'VE DONE SO MUCH ARC BUILDING FOR, DEVELOPMENT AND PROGRESS TO THE POINT IM STUPID PROUD OF HER AND..... who i almost archived and killed off before because i thought i couldnt do anything for her. no muse. no ideas. no care. nothing.
her name is cecilia. and dear god, what a ride writing her has been. she originally started out as an npc to progress another (shenanigans) plot i had for a ship. but then i was brought up a concept and an fc i really liked and decided "hey why not?". there was a plot that allowed her an opening, so i went for it. gave her a cool background and equally cool wanted ads (one of which i am still so proud of making to this day and consider to be one of my favorite ads). i defaulted to a niche i was comfortable with writing - an ambitious, unapologetic, mean and blunt danger lady. and problems began after she'd been accepted. she'd gotten no traction for plots, no attention, and after i had done her Big Plotline Event, i struggled to write her. i wanted to archive her because i had to force myself to write lackluster posts for her.
then i went on hiatus from the site she was on for a few. and when i came back, someone wanted to take the ad i had written for her and was incredibly proud of. i let the person take the ad - and just like that, a spark of a match, turning a lightswitch, my muse for her skyrocketed. i'll admit it was a ship ad, but it didn't mean to be! not completely. things just... worked out. and the pair me and my rp partner made complimented each other incredibly well, their tied history aside. we've even gone so far in their plots that the biggest obstacle / reason they were thrown in each other's paths (a deal with a devil / life debt) had been absolved. so everything went full circle.
i'd argue that cecilia's gone from my most lackluster character to my most complex, who as of late has done plenty of big plots and gone through a Number of Character Development situations. and currently, the arc i'm building for her is one i'm really excited over because i get to explore a side of her i haven't completely delved in yet.
she's ambitious, mean, unapologetic, has a temper like none other and is so damn proud of herself. she doesn't know how to be gentle with people and she's feral beyond belief when push comes to shove and never apologizes for her wild. but she loves and is unafraid, knows her worth and value and wouldnt dare let anyone try to change that fact, all while slowly learning how to be genuinely vulnerable and trying to cope with ptsd while keeping herself going no matter the odds. she's a messy contradiction of stoic, distant, chill and calm but passionate and unrelenting like wildfire. and i adore her for it. i am so attached to my newly-turned vampire bodyguard ex-soldier lady its almost ridiculous.
bonus points comes in that people now really like her character, and i've heard from some that they follow her plots even if they aren't involved. i've gotten numerous mentions of her being cool and whatnot. (alongside some of people saying they want her to step on them lmao--) and i just. am so proud of how far she's gone. that is all. thank u.

Yes hi I’m back— The same Head Ranger I was gushing about a few months ago? Well, there was a chance to become a legendary’s avatar (still the same site hehe) and I literally went in the thread YOLO like literally because who knew if alluding to the previous avatar of that particular legendary was going to work because there are a lot of very creative writers around the place I put a very Laurence spin on how he got there, pls call him insane he freakin’ trekked through a near-arctic climate cave alone with no Pokémon companions (the conditions of Shoal Cave, while normally pleasant during low tide went monkas when that legendary appeared) So like When it was time for said legendary to make their choice Who knew that it would pick my boy out of all of them?!endless you know what I mean fam YOU SAW WHAT I DID

i have this boy named owen cadogan who i haven't written in an rp setting in a long, long while...but i luv thinking about him. luv writing short stories + drabbles about his ~verse~ when i can find the energy.
his whole <thing> is being a golden boy, and only being recognized as a golden boy, and only being cared about because his family is so famous and important. totally one of those "drowning in the shoes you're meant to inherit" deals. he's mostly treated like a trophy, i guess?
he's pretty nervous and anxious and ocd deep down, but his facade is simply "^__^" and he's entirely willing to sacrifice himself under the guise of "wanting to help people", but in truth, he's just unsure of what do do with himself unless he's being ordered around or useful in some way lol.
there's also v[elma]. clair, one of my oldest oc's, who is my jester/trickster character. i'm sort of touch and go with how she's portrayed exactly...but i try to keep her love of fun and *life* consistent. .
also she is very, very manipulative, but her schemes are more often than not meant to help people -- nevermind that her way of "helping" is more often than not unneeded (lol), which gets her into trouble...she's also extremely conflict avoidant? would 100% cry if she had to make someone cry (off the stage).

If I ever RP Pokemon again, I'll probably bring back my retired Poke-French sous chef, my only real "recurring" character. His gist is him wanting to be a chef since his youth but, in confronting his depression, realizing he isn't fulfilled by what he's dedicated his life to, so he starts off on this reluctant journey of self discovery with his stray gutter-trash dog-friend. To bring the Pokemon in, my end goal for him was to become a "breeder" in the anime sense of raising Pokemon. He's kind of grounded for a Power-of-Friendship, monster-fighter setting, but I thought that was fun, like this adult getting involved in anime shit and trying to lecture the kids while wearing sandals on the road. I remember I got in a very meditative mood when I wrote for him - it helped that he was a chef and a foodie and food is really, really fun to write about.
And I guess I could write another neurotic magical girl-stanning lesbian... I guess that was fun. Ugh.
