we actually just had to do this on ours because I was getting super overwhelmed with everything and wasn't quite happy in my admin space. There are other projects that I want to work on and write in more than the major one we're doing, and it took a lot out of me to do as much as I have been, on top of all of the irl stresses. Moving forward though, the rest of the staff team has picked back up on the slack a little and I'm getting back into writing rather than planning which is nice.
Normalize staff taking breaks!

Normalize staff vacations! I know when I'd used to admin, I'd felt a little guilty when there were things to process piling up and questions that needed to be answered and I would just not publicly tag my thread partners because I didn't want to look like I was slacking on my job. But really, the people that should be writing the most are staff, who did the work because they wanted to RP!

Normalize not being scared to approach staff to plot! Yes there's something a little bit intimidating about messaging a staff member, but they're RPers too, looking to RP. No one staffs because they just want to staff, they do it because they want to help make the site run smoothly.

as a certified staffer who also writes too much but also a member who can and WILL be in staff dms to be a nuisance about plotting - agreed on every single moment!!

i am a fool who often doesn't take breaks despite burnout when it came to staffing and that nearly fucked me over so bad back in november. the break was needed. felt bad because i'm the most active bc of how much time work gives me but i also just want to plot too! it's ok to take breaks!

i am 95% sure the only reason a) there's a bunch of stray cats constantly screaming around my housing area and b) one woke me up by yowling at 4am (and i couldn't gte back to sleep after) today is because my neighbour has been feeding them. i am sleep deprived as shit and i'm so pissed that it's because of a cat that i don't even have the privilege of owning

i think before that it was only ever around 150 or something. so it says a lot to the enjoyment ive been having :3

when i got past like, 150 posts on a character that was the highest number ive ever reached. but it didn't mean anything until today when i reached 666 posts on her and honestly she deserves it

i like a relationship tracker, i like a lot of the more meticulous dev things (thread timelines, etc) but the reality is that i don't keep up with them and then i cry updating them once every two months. i do like the spread though. i like the exploration.

I've been doing a lot of dev lately, and though I have a hard time finding the motivation to do so, incentives always work.

Arranging character playlists has been really fun, especially seeing how varied my choices are across characters. I've also really liked getting back into making mood and aesthetic boards. It's a bit of a challenge to do timelines, but it's been fun organizing my thoughts.

It's gotten fun once I got into the swing of it, but what are your favorite things to do in a dev thread?

i wondeer why you've been doing that... fufufuu

in all seriousness, i do enjoy the music compilations a lot. even though my music tastes are basically the same circle of stuff (aka vocaloid, poets of the fall, etc) it's fun putting together a playlist and finding the Vibes tm because i findthat can be something people relate to easier. i don't have much of an eye for aesthetics and moodboards, esp layout-wise, so it's not necessarily something i think about as much.

i do enjoy dev bits that actively interact w the world. i don't mind the organisational stuff (timelines etc) but they do get to be a slog if you try and dedicate urself to updating them. but letters to other characters and stuff.... yeah, that's the good stuff.
