Do you like classic horror? Vampires, werewolves, zombies...yโ€™know, that sort of thing? Do you like panfandom sites? Then boy, have I got a treat for you!

This site (title not decided yet) is an animated panfandom site with a unique twist - characters are pulled into a Gothic horror-esque fantasy world a la Ravenloft (or Curse of Strahd, for newer D&D players). From there, characters will be able to join one of the factions detailed below or strike out on their own.

Synopsis and Factions

Long ago, a powerful vampire lord ruled over the setting with an iron fist, controlling the hapless mortals within it with his unmatched dark powers. Then one day, a band of heroes from other worlds stormed his castle and slew him. With his death, his power over the setting broke, and his domain was left to his lieutenants to squabble over.

But this vampire lord did not truly die. A few years after his defeat, his spirit returned, convincing his most loyal lieutenant and a handful of followers to begin preparations for his resurrection. The vampire lordโ€™s spirit offers those pulled from other worlds a fraction of his power, in exchange for servitude.

In the intervening years between his death and resurrection, his lieutenants fought amongst each other. Eventually, one vampire clan emerged victorious. The leader of this vampire clan is aware of the vampire lordโ€™s resurrection, and is currently attempting to stifle said vampire lord. Although they possess greater numbers, this lesser vampire lord is far weaker than their predecessor - nevertheless, they are currently the head of the most powerful faction in the game.

In the meantime, the mortal masses endure as they must, rallied under the banner of a god who has seemingly long since abandoned his flock. While the heroes from other worlds provided them with a momentary reprieve, their abrupt disappearance spelled the end of their brief hopes. Perhaps the coming of these new outlanders will provide them with their long-sought liberation.

Whichever side you choose - choose quickly. The encircling mists leave you with no alternative...

Allowed Characters

Weโ€™ll be allowing almost any character from any animated medium, with a few exceptions:

* Gods, cosmic beings, eldritch abominations, and reality warpers (e.g. Galactus, Dr. Manhattan, Cthulhu) will not be allowed, for reasons that I hope are obvious.

* For reasons I hope are equally obvious, animated depictions of major religious figures or controversial political figures (e.g. Muhammad, Adolf Hitler, George W. Bush) will not be allowed.

* For reasons similar to the reasons stated above, depictions of still-living or even recently deceased real people (e.g. Adam West from Family Guy) will not be allowed.

* This is an animated panfandom site, and so claims from live-action media will not be allowed.

* Anything larger than 3 meters will either be downscaled or, in the case of shapeshifters (e.g. Envy from FMA), mode-locked. Similarly, anything under 4 feet (e.g. Kirby) will be resized to approximately human-ish size.

* Characters devoid of any canon personality (e.g. Red from Pokemon) will not be allowed. Same goes for fully-customizable characters (e.g. the Dragonborn).

* Cartoon characters from cartoons without even a semblance of internal consistency (e.g. Bugs Bunny) will not be allowed, because toon-force is basically conditional reality-warping. Cartoon characters from cartoons with consistent or even semi-consistent physics (e.g. Finn the Human, Aang) will be allowed.

* Characters that are not sentient will likewise not be allowed.

In addition, the following characters will be restricted.

* Characters deemed too overpowered for regular sites that otherwise do not meet any of the eliminating criteria above (e.g. Superman, pre-SSG Goku) will be allowed, but will have their powers scaled back significantly.
None of the characters mentioned will be able to destroy moons, for instance.

* Immortal characters will have any other forms of immortality downgraded to mere agelessness (which doesnโ€™t affect the story anyway) and weak regeneration if they possess regeneration in canon.

* Psychic/magical characters will be unable to control/influence minds or alter memories with their powers.

These rules may be updated as the site evolves.
