hello peoples of pixel perfect! i'm here to announce that we have some new site shop policies that are to be considered effective immediately. following input from individuals in the community, we have decided to change the way that we run our paid ad and affiliate system. 

paid affiliates now have no expiration date. upon purchase, a site has a guaranteed one week of time up in the site header, but will not be taken down until a new affiliate is purchased and needs space to be displayed. we're hoping that this incentivizes the purchasing of this item (since theoretically your site could be featured for weeks on end), and negate the time that there is ever empty and underutilized paid affiliate space in the header. please note, however, that this new policy does not apply to the paid advertisements, which will still run as it has previously.

new sites will now qualify for discounted paid ad space with both being mere fractions of their full-price costs. this is a one-time purchase for each new site that we are hoping will encourage activity and traffic for our new friends on the block; however, staff also wants to make sure to be clear that it's on members looking to purchase ad space at these discounted prices to indicate such in your purchase threads as it'll be very difficult for staff to stay on top of that with out member help!

the site shop has been updated to reflect these changes, so if you are looking to purchase these items or utilize the new discounts at any time, make sure to read up on those! additionally, both of these policies are currently considered on a trial period. staff will revisit them at the end of the year to assess how things are running and see if any changes need to be made.

these updates and changes were only possible thanks to community feedback given to us in our help and moderation board. if you ever feel that there are areas in the community that we, as staff, can improve, please never be afraid to come forward and let us know your thoughts (even if it's via private PM rather than a public thread). this community is yours just as much as it is ours.

moving forward, we are looking to make events (similar to the previously run writing prompt bingo, and others) a more regular thing on pixel perfect. if there are any events that you, specifically, would like to see run on site, please feel free to post here in this thread and let us know (even if you only have a vague idea of something you think might be neat)! the success of events entirely hinges on the participation of members like you, and so we want to make sure that the events we run are things that you, as members, are interested in!
