villain kissing is fun, actually
staffing can genuinely be a super rough experience. i'm sure we've all seen some of the worst come out of people just because of a misunderstanding or misremembering of a rule, etc.

so! i wanted to take a second and create a space where we could all talk about moments where you truly felt appreciated as a staff member specifically by your memberbase and how we can all work to build more morale for our communities (members and staff)!

it's never quite as simple as building a positive environment in my experience, so i'm interested to see what others may think! i'll add my own thoughts in later, but it's been a rough week so it'll take some time gkjfhdg

also: try to say something kind to the person who posted before you (skip me for now ofc)!

i'm happy to help start this off! i've been at this for as long as i can remember; for some reason i always end up taking up the mantle of leader, despite not wanting it.

my ultimate goal is to create a safe space for my members and i think i've actually achieved that. though that and helping my members with their own little (or big) problems, it's created this wonderful little community of affection and understanding, which truly makes me feel appreciated. we have a fairly active vent channel, but honestly, i don't mind. this world is hard and if i can help someone alleviate their problems for even just a few minutes, or offer them some advice that ends up turning the tables in a positive manner - i'll try my hardest.

i understand that role play is a hobby and for a lot of people, an escape but real life problems eventually tend to bleed into any social aspect, so this is my advice and please take this with a grain of salt because i'm an empathetic elf who has a large capacity to take in a lot of emotions - always listen to what your members have to say. even if it's just something simple as expressing sympathy, that could mean the world to someone who feels like they may not be listened to. you never truly know what your empathy can change or encourage; i've had people come back years later telling me that i helped them in some way and i wasn't even aware. this includes site members!

even though OP said i didn't have to say anything nice about them - i'm gonna do it anyway!! i don't have to know you to know that you're an amazing person, everyone is so unique in their own wonderful way. this is a wonderful little post you've made and i really hope that it will help anyone who comes looking for advice! additionally, i truly hope your week gets better but if you need someone to talk to - feel free to message me, i love to listen.
