A long time ago, in ancient Greece, oracles were worshiped as gods, looked at with devotion by the human race. As time passed, the oracles started being forgotten and eventually, their presence was lost to time, and as such, was claimed to be nothing more than myth and folklore.

The Yokai of Spheria decided divine intervention was in place and decided that the oracles, and their importance to the balance of life, couldn't be left unprotected and a new breed of Yokai were trained, sworn to protect the oracles by any means necessary. A magical spell was created for this purpose and the contract was made, allowing guardians and oracles to form a bond called the soul bond. The soul bond allowed the guardians to better protect their oracle.

Several centuries ago, a guardian was hurt, crawling into the forest to die when an oracle followed. The oracle used too much of their own life force in an attempt to save the life of the guardian, but something went wrong, and not only was the guardian healed, but the sudden burst of power corrupted them, and the former guardian grew addicted to the power, quickly realizing that at the brink of death, the gift that allows the Yokai to live forever, was gone and they could no longer live forever - at least not without absorbing the energy of oracles.

And so the djinn was born.

The year is 2018, guardians are sent out to protect newly manifested oracles, who have to enforce the balance between life and death, good and bad - all the while the djinn are hunting them, trying to steal their power for their own.

So, are you on the side of good, evil or neither? As a character in this world, you hold the power to shift the balance. With that power in your hands, what will your move be?

Set in the fictional city of Nova Spheris, in the middle of the Cyclades Islands of Greece, the world still follow the real world's history. The city holds roughly 500.000 citizens and, like Greece itself, is part of the cradle of Western Civilization, being part of the birthplace of democracy, Western philosophy, Western literature, historiography, political science, political science, major scientific and mathematical principles, and Western drama.

However, in the world "over yonder", also referred to as "Otherwhere" or "Spheria", is where the Yokai reside. Divided into four islands with diverse climates: The deep, mystical forests of the Kael island, the arid desert of Tamoya, the polar extremes of Mt. Caligo and the tropical seaside island of Costa Del Sol.
