I swear. If I see another god dang main character who's being bullied, I'm gonna blow a gasket. Like jesus, do people not know how to write any other character? I mean that's cool and all as a origin, but it's literally ALL THE TIME. Why are all these people being bullied? Can I watch one movie/show or read one magna/webtoon where the main character is a regular guy? Do writers do this so that the MC is relatable? I didn't get bullied, I don't relate. And it's not even the fact that they're beign bullied, it's how bland it is half the time, or how unrealistic some of these happenings are. Are they doing this so the MC has a struggle? Is bullying the only struggle people know? as someone who was bullied... yeah, the way bullying is depicted is really uncommon nowadays? idk, maybe some other people can relate to the sort of thing that goes on, but i don't see bullying as ever being so blatant as it is depicted anymore? tho, i can't speak for physical bullying that happens. w/ other kind of bullying, tho, it's rarely so obvious. maybe once did someone actually say in my face something that woulda set off the bullying alarms. didn't change the fact that i came home crying every day? alskdjf..... kids were cruel to me, but at the time i didn't even realize i was getting bullied? literally no one did. and that's because the way i was bullied isn't the way media depicts bullying—even psychological bullying. so like, yeah. alksdfjds there's a reason kids don't take it seriously—it's portrayed so blatantly that you honestly cannot miss it if it happens to you—but you & everyone else around you do because bullying is a hell of a lot more subtle than media depicts. tho again that's my experience. maybe its a generational thing, maybe it's just a me thing. might be like... where i grew up in? idk I had this long typed out rant about all the things I've been through when it comes to bullying. But I all that info isn't needed. I'll just say that bullying is more obvious than you might think it is. People don't really like to see it when it's presented. Likely out of worry of becoming the target themselves. Times are changing tho and I appreciate it.
