They entered the battle arrogant. A few wins beneath their belt had them feeling as if even the world would rend itself to pieces beneath their magic -- alas. Hadn't they been told repeatedly that pride is sinful?

And to exude such pride before a creature of sin itself. One with magic that crafts lies and a foul-smelling ichor. Surely, this marked their downfall.
