to this idea of being "uncreative" or "lacking in artistic creativity": creativity!!! is!! a!! skill!! that you learn via practice and work in the same way you get better at drawing via practice, or you get faster at coding w/ practice. (in my experience) creativity is 95% iterating and 5% actual "creativity". if anything, when you break down creativity, it's just a matter of thinking about the utility of the product you want to create and then figuring out how to execute on that idea. sometimes you come up with an idea you really want to execute on right away, sometimes you start with a blank canvas, add a box, pick a random colour and then force yourself to make do with what you have. 

my biggest suggestion to people who think they're "uncreative" or "not creative" enough is to code/create as much as possible and to consume a lot of different kinds of media!! the more you dedicate serious time and effort into it, the more it'll pay off and you'll realise that "creativity" is just as much of a process as any other form of art!! we all have a creative spark in us, and it's up to us to decide whether or not we want to hone it and how much time we're willing to dedicate to the growth of it!!

i've started doing physical mock-ups even for templates and honestly it's killed my motivation to code because i look at what i've drawn and i'm like i know 100% there's no way i'm going to put the effort into making it actually look like this

i say yes. some communities just have a vibe that makes people uncomfortable and more often than not, there's good reason for it. where there's smoke, there's usually a fire imo and i trust my own instincts and gut feelings 9 times out of 10.

also: just because a community isn't outright or obviously "toxic", doesn't mean that there aren't other ways to make people feel uncomfortable, excluded, etc. and the worst part abt the internet is that you never know if those actions are intentional or accidental.

my confession? after the adrenaline of a new template wears off i'm always overcome with a disgusting amount of regret, not because i don't like the things i create, but because i know i'm disappointing every single professor i've ever had for web d&d. forum coding turns off my brain and makes me feel like i've regressed to caveman times.

Though for the main background I'd prefer something close to #0d0d0d or even #080808 since the site's post area bg is already pretty dark and we don't want it blending in too much. hello! uhh idk how to premise this but i'm jumpstart [also known as scan/scandalous, nira/nitah, redamancy/nancy, kope, v/vvvaporwaves and many other aliases]. i'm university student studying digital media w/ a specialization in web design and i've been roleplaying since i was like, 12 and have been coding just as long. since i've suddenly got a lot of time of on my hands, i figured i'd open up shop just to see if there was an interest.

i specialize in jcink templates, but can also do proboards. i can code jcink skins [miss me with that pb shit lmao], but only if the requests interest me so if you'd like one of those pm me and we'll see what we can do.
