SIGMAR BLESS THIS RAVAGED BODY!
Loooool, I am rolling my eyes as far back as they go and facepalming into the void. I just knew it was going to be some simple oversight like this. All of my endless head-scratching and I'd missed changing a 2 to a 1. And then proceeded to NEVER notice, despite laboriously poring over this Style Sheet.

It's fixed and working now.

Again and again, THANK YOU so much for your eyes on this. You're the bombest. Yeah, I'd tried interchanging 'width' and 'height' a couple times, and when nothing worked (because obviously), I tried looking at the make-up of a plotting template that used horizontal scrolls. They had used width as far as I could tell, so I was like... hmm, okay? Lol.

Thank you so much for your help, , you're always so great! I really appreciate it!

I've added your suggestions, but I must be missing something. There is still no scrollbar/scrolling, and now it's as if my images have a left offset of some sort. I've included below what this portion of my Style Sheet looks with the current coding. Can you see anything I'm blatantly overlooking? Thanks so much for your help!

Hello! Asking for help on here has proved incredibly fruitful for me in the past, so here I am again!

I'm trying to code a small award section in my mini-profile on a Proboards site, pictured above. The box for the awards is only 246px by 40px. And the trick I'm trying to hammer into existence is a horizontal scroll, where you can scroll horizontally to see the rest of the awards if there are more. But... I've never made a horizontal scrollbox before, and no matter what I try to incorporate into my Style Sheet/webkit scroll thingy, I can't get it to work. I honestly don't know what I'm doing lol. I've added a 'float:left;' to each image. It's probably something simple I'm missing. Could anyone give me a nudge in the right direction? How does one code a horizontal scrollbox in their Style sheet? I can make vertical ones just fine, but this horizontal thing is throwing me for an absolute loop. I've tried adding -x's and :horizontal's everywhere.

I have a feeling these are all gonna sound generic, but~

Dragon's Dogma, Divinity: Original Sin II, Dragon Age - The three D's of my kind of RPGs. Dragon's Dogma was definitely lacking a bit in story, but the gameplay was everything I could ever ask for in a single-player hash-and-slash and I don't think I'll find that again in another game. The fact that you can change your class at any time was amazing, the Pawn system was great, and battling was fun. I enjoyed the game immensely, even if I thought the ending was lame and the story was so-so.

I found Divinity after looking desperately for an RPG me and my boyfriend could play as a couch co-op on the PS4. And I'm not disappointed. It doesn't seem like anything too special, but it has been a lot of fun and we've put a lot of hours into it (like... he works on the weekends, and both of us can't wait for him to get home so we can play for 8 more hours haha). It's definitely scratching an itch I've had. I was basically looking for a Dragon's Dogma we could play together, so we gave this a try, and it's been a lot of fun.

Dragon Age was one of my first loves. Dragon Age: Origins had great story and great companions, Dragon Age 2 had great companions and a fun, fast-paced gamestyle (like Dragon's Dogmna), and Dragon Age: Inquisition was very pretty. I found all three to have a lot of replay value, to make different choices (and romance different people lol). I named my two cats Anders (we just call her Andy) and Dorian, lol.

Supergiant Games: Bastion, Pyre, Transistor. All three of these games had beautiful art and superb soundtracks. The narration in Bastion and Transistor was so, so, so amazing. I've got Supergiant posters up all over my apartment because it's all so pretty. I haven't played their new game, Hades, yet. But I will definitely buy it once it's out of beta.

----

For games that aren't necessarily my favorite, but are just fun to play with a close friend or two: Vermintide 2, Dead By Daylight, Green Hell, 7 Days to Die, SCUM.

----

And lastly, some shout-outs to the games I grew up on as a kid and just have these vivid memories of. Sudeki for the original Xbox. This game was really fun?? And I remember it having cute music and cute NPC character designs. And then you go into a dark alternate-universe and meet your dark-Universe selves and play as your dark-Universe selves with different skills and I remember this blowing my adolescent mind and leaving a fond impression.

Anyone ever play Rugrats, I think for the original Playstation? I remember that game being a million different things in one. I remember playing the multiplayer games by myself for hours (because I had no friends and no siblings as a child lmao). And they had a range of multiplayer games that were all fun?? And I remember there were minigolf courses where you could just ditch the mini-golfing and go exploring temples and stuff and find stuff before eventually returning to your mini-golfing.

I can't tell you how many times I played Tony Hawk's Underground 2 for Xbox, either. That was fun.

Shoutout to old-school Runescape, which I played on the sh*ttiest dial-up in the universe. I could have died thirty seconds ago and not know it. But bless this game and playing it with my old Warrior Cats RPing buddies.

The site is not yet open. I've been working on it for months, and there are still a few things left that need to be done. But overall, the bulk of things are in place. And so, while I'm in the stage of finishing things and tying up the last handful of loose ends... I thought it would be a decent time to get another pair of eyes on the place. How does it look? As far as the information I do have up, the site layout, the character application, the ad, all of that. Any blaring thing I've overlooked, or something that you feel is missing? Just some critique in general, on how I can make this better before I do get to that Grand Opening point. Anything you have to say will be greatly appreciated!

Below is the advertisement I've got whipped up for when we do open.

Swallowing Embers is a Pokemon roleplaying site with the addition of 'quirks' (inspired by BNHA/My Hero Academia). The site has a 100-word count minimum and accepts roleplayers of any level. There is a bare-bones plot involving a group of 'baddies' who aim to take over the region, but we consider ourselves majorly character-driven. The Arafel Region will be what we make of it — what you choose to cook up between your characters and others.

  • Grand Opening! Arafel opened its doors 00/00!
  • Searching for Gym Leaders/Subs/Elite Four, and staff!
  • Important positions open to be plotted/claimed, such as the Guildmaster and Royal families!
  • Take a look around and let's see what we can do together!

ADVERTISING CONTEST: We're holding an advertising contest right now for our grand opening! If you tell them YOUR NAME sent you when creating your first character, both you and YOUR NAME can claim 5 Rare Candies!

Hey, thank you so much! I actually was just logging in to delete my post, because I found that just now! It occurred to me that in the Recently Posted page that they were only all broken after Amaya's, I figured it was something there. But that was it! I just took out all the ", because I don't think they're actually necessary for the newclasses part and it fixed it. Thanks so much!

I'm working on posting templates for my characters and it appears that... when posting multiple templates that have a webkit-scroll-blah-blah edit.... they're canceling each other out? I can't imagine this, as I've seen replies in the same thread with separate scollbars that don't affect each other. So I'm not sure what my problem is here, or what little bit I'm missing that's causing this. Or if there's something I can add that could prevent this from happening if the thread I'm replying to does have a webkit-edit, that mine can as well?

I don't know if that makes sense, so here's the example.

I posted this template as a reply to another template here: linky
(the scrollbar works on the first reply, but not on the second)

But when I post the same exact template, copy and pasted, in its own thread, it works: linky

Any ideas/advice/whatnot is greatly appreciated! You all are so helpful and I'm sure just having a second set of eyes looking at this will help me out.

NOTE: And it looks like all scrollbars work when you view the Recently Posted?? So... idk. And it also looks like it isn't just the scrollbar. The newclasses just aren't working on the second reply, because there's also a "bold" class in there.

EDIT: Actually it's like the newclasses konk out about halfway down the Recently Posted page. Not sure about that either.

Aaaaah, thanks sooo much for all that information, Gimmick. Incredibly helpful, thorough, and simple enough for me to get. I can't wait to get back on and try and play with some of those things. Thank you!!

Okay, , I replaced the template. The tabs and everything seem to be working fine now. It looks like the vertical spacing isn't centered/"middled" in some places (like the Character Name, and the Descriptor), and the tabs aren't lined up with the body, but I think that could be fixed with a little tweaking. Although... out of curiosity, do you know happen to know why that may not be working? I tend to have little problems like that when I try to code my own templates with vertical-align:middle; and it typically never translates when I convert it from HTML to BBC -- I usually have to do replace it with line-spacing or a margin instead.

And on an additional note, do you think instead of.... having to modify every premade template I found that has nested [attr] tabs in order for them to work (I'm pretty clueless with the tabbed tables coding if that isn't obvious at this point). You mentioned earlier that the breaking of the templates with the [attr] tags could be an issue with the version of the plug-ins? If I try installing different versions of the plug-ins and what-not, do you think that would fix this?

Or alternatively, was it a quick/simple fix to take the nesting [attr] out of the tab and add that coding elsewhere? If it's a simple add/fix in order to make it work, I could probably do that. I should have posted the two templates separately so I could see what/where you moved it to, but I didn't.

Thanks for being so incredibly helpful thus far. Hope you don't mind me picking your brain more.. a lot of coding is just over my head.

Sorry for the late reply, and thanks so much for taking a look guys.

- I didn't make any changes to the template at all. And when I go into modify and look through the coding on it, I can't locate the unclosed tab in the place your image points one out. But I may be missing it.

- I did have the Tabbed plugin above the Style plugin in my plugins. When I swapped them like you suggested, it did make the templates look a little less broken. But still broken. I went ahead and posted one of your templates as well, since it was a little easier for me to dissect and work with. When I posted yours, with no changes to the template at all, it shows up okay.... but the tabs aren't showing up. So I posted a second reply and replaced the nested attribute tags with plain text per your suggestion. And now the text shows up, but only on the third tab. Here's the thread where you can see that: swallowingembers.boards.net/thread/98/testing-tabs Not sure if that's just because the styles are now missing or if it's part of the problem...

Also, the mini-profile I am using does have tabs in it. Could this somehow be the culprit? Could the whole problem be a clash with that? Or nah?

Again, thank you guys, I really appreciate it.

I am trying to code my own tabbed table for an application. But I couldn't get it right, so I was going to use a premade template. So I tried posting some premade templates, and all of them were wonked out and not displaying properly. I have the Style Tag and the Tabbed Sections in Posts plug-ins both installed. I'm wondering it's possible to pinpoint where and what's not happening? Something is conflicting with something else? Or have I just forgotten to do something with those plug-ins?

Here's the link for the thread I posted one of Leap's premade templates into: swallowingembers.boards.net/thread/95/hahaha-tabs

Thanks for taking a look in any case, I really appreciate it.

I don't even know if this is possible, or how difficult it would be. This is for a Proboards site. Is there any way that you could have two varying classes of boards for the board list? Like... is there any achievable way that a few boards could display a bit different than the other boards of a category?

I'll try to explain a little better. The IC-boards of my site are divided into "Northern Arafel", "Eastern Arafel", "Western Arafel", and "Southern Arafel". The first two boards of each category are the cities/towns/villages of that region, where the other four or six boards are "wild boards" (out of city limits). I was hoping to find a way where I could somehow have the two city/town boards be bigger, and possibly coded a bit different than the other 4-6 wild boards. So the wild boards would be more simple, with just title/description, etc... where the town/city boards would be a bit more ostentatious, with possibly a small picture, larger title, longer description, etc. Just so the towns and cities stand out a bit more than the wild boards.

Is something like this possible, and if so, then... how so? Can you assign classes to specific boards, or...? Honestly, I'm not sure where to begin, or if it's feasible. I know I've seen something akin to it on a few Jcink sites, but I haven't the faintest idea on how it's achieved.

Any feedback is greatly appreciated, thanks for taking the time to read.

P.S: And also, while I'm on the subject of varying things. This occurred to me a bit earlier on when I was creating my regions. Again, don't know if it's possible or how difficult it would be, but it kind of runs along similar lines... is it possible for each category to look a little different? For each category to have a different title bar background image/content background image than the others? My thinking on that was "Northern Arafel" is a glacial/snowy area, so it would be cool if the background-images I created for that category were a light blue, and "Eastern Arafel" is a region known for its farmlands and its relative peace compared to the other regions... so it would be cool to have container background images for that region that were golden.... I hope I'm making sense here.
