Premise

One day, out of the blue, the world as we know it came to a sudden halt. Technology all seemed to fail instantly, planes fell from the sky, boats stranded out in the ocean, to phones dropping calls. As technology failed us, each human was given a choice. How will you survive the apocalypse? Right before their eyes, they were given a choice. Create a class that would allow them to not only survive but thrive in this ever-changing world. Reality has turned into a game of sorts. People have stats, skills, and items to help them grow stronger and face the challenges that this new world provides. With monsters appearing around each corner, one never fully feels safe.

The World

The site takes place on Earth. The only issue is that reality has warped and become an RPG of sorts. While at the start of the change, things stay rather the same in terms of appearance; as time goes on things will begin to change. Skyscrapers have shifted into castles and giant trees. Forests have sprung up where once was pavement. Gradually the world is shifting. As the site opens, only a few cities around the world will be accessible to the remaining survivors. The rest of the world is locked and requires the remaining survivors to complete tasks to progress further. Each new plotline opens up new possibilities for the world to change. Staff and members will work closely with each other to curate a world that is immersive, ever-changing, and important to membersโ€™ personal stories.

Members will be forced to group up with those who have been left in whatever city they are spawned in. They have to overcome various obstacles and trials to slowly open up the world around them and gain new areas to explore. With technology turned obsolete, they will have to use each otherโ€™s skills and gumption to build their own haven in this nightmare. Over time, the world will warp to a fantasy/steampunk-like place. With members crafting new inventions to help bring a bit of normalcy back into the world.

The System

There are 6 Archetypes: Tank, Warrior, Spellcaster, Cleric, Rogue, and Ranger. Each of these Archetypes has its own pros and cons. While members will pick one of these Archetypes, they will be left to create their own Class. One that takes the basic concept of their Archetype and augments it to fit whatever playstyle they seek. Each class is assigned a letter grade in one of the 5 stats and this letter grade remains static throughout your time on the site. The way we will determine winners in clashes and conflicts is via levels. So all Level 3 Ranger class players will have the same stats as each other. No need to feel like youโ€™ve got to grind and balance these stats. Focus on your story, not the background noise. Donโ€™t fret if you donโ€™t like the idea of being locked into a certain letter grade your whole time here. There will be unique ways that these letter grades can change. Easiest of which would be through a skill.

Players will be allowed to create their own unique skills and abilities. These abilities will be rather open to the players though there are some rules/regulations to abilities that might be a bit too extreme for a text-based Roleplay setting. Abilities will at first be able to be created in a normal manner by members. Over time, they will learn new skills by merging existing skills into a new hybrid version that exceeds previous rules and expectations.

Current State of Site

We have built out a large portion of the site already but have recently hired a professional coder to help us skin the site. At the moment, the site is remaining under lock and key so that we can roll out a more pretty and complete product. We are seeking members who are interested in becoming a part of the community but also who wouldnโ€™t mind coming onto staff and seeing if that would be something you would be interested in. Weโ€™re expecting the site to release a soft beta towards the end of March/early April. Feel free to come to join our Discord and get some more in-depth details and have your questions answered!

True.

Either that or have generic class categories and give people to make the freedom to name their class within that category and already have basic skills like you said.  future skills or etc. could be gained via events/shops but ya it would require a lot of thought and work to simplify it for rp.

i also have invested in Hardcore Leveling Warrior webtoon while LN is on off days and its very very deep into the storyline so i'm still catching up.  starts off sorta surface bare, but picks up and gets deeper and deeper.

it would be exciting and new to see a Isekai RP but i definitely acknowledge it would be a huge undertaking
It sounds sooo cool! I think there are various ways of doing this, either giving a few options of classes to choose from in character creation, then letting the player make up their own skills with shop purposes. Or the player chooses their own class and some skills, but the site relies heavily on staff distributing rewards through missions etc.

I think what appeals to me most is the achievements and acquiring random skills based on literally anything (kind of like Bofuri). For example, how fun would it be to do a social where you're messing around and then staff post an achievement where, idk, you get a healing skill with your food since you spent most of the social cooking. Or maybe you spend a thread hunting a specific species of monster, and gain a skill reflecting that.

Even getting site members to make the requests themselves of what they've done and what kind of skill/ achievement they're hoping to gain from it. A bit of work from both the staff team and RPers will go a long way.

I think it's doable as an RP site, it is just a lot of work on staff with events and rewards etc. Low-key tempted to start writing some systems and ideas for the future, making a site is definitely something I've always wanted to do.

What I'm really happy about is that the way Solo Leveling ended is a similar concept I had written before I read this, so I could come up with a different and unique story but following the same 'system'. ^^
So Iโ€™ve been thinking of this idea a bit more and came up with a general system that would mimic the Solo Leveling/ Solo Necromancer system.

Stats
There would need to be stats. Iโ€™d say these can be based simply on popular RPGs. (Strength, Dexterity, Agility, Health Points, Stamina Points, Magic Points, etcโ€ฆ) Youโ€™d get a certain # to allocate at the start between them Character Classes would also determine what some of these starts as. At each level, you get like +1 or 2 points to put into stats. That way, not every stat will be maxed out and the numbers are low.

Classes
Characters will create their own generic class that will be based on either: Tank, DPS, or Support. The three main archetypes will mainly deal with what sort of skills you can make and how many HP, SP, and MP points you start with/gain while leveling up. Many players might share the same name of Character Classes but how they build them and use that class may vary greatly. Do not get too bogged down by Character Classes, they are more for flavor and an understanding for others on what you are going within your build.

Skills
When starting, each player would auto make 1-3 skills. Skills range from E grade to S grade. All skills auto-start at E grade and have to be leveled up over time to S grade. The number of skills would be limited. Types of skills could be Offensive, Defensive, Support, Hinder, and Other. Keeping how skills work pretty open but with some rules. Like if an E rank spell buffs by +1 maybe S rank buffs by +5 or something. Like the ranks between skills definitely improve as you go up but not to the point that itโ€™s too OP.

Lone Necromancer has this ability where they allow for the merging of skills with each other to make a new more powerful skill, something that could be mimicked too. Not too sure how this would work out but it could be a really cool feature.

Setting
After reading the Lone Necromancer, I loved the idea that the whole world becomes a game and regions are locked from each other. So maybe as the site starts there are only a few neighborhoods in cities throughout the world. Like a place in North America, Europe, and Asia. So each group kind of gets their own mini world for a period of time before regions start to unlock. Technology will all shut down, with items that can turn them back on as the site progresses. Items would have to be staff-made and regulated.

Same concept as skills, the items can be combined to make new and creative versions of themselves. Would be a cool feature.

Solo Leveling would be cool AF. I feel like you'd have to tweak some of that world stuff though since it makes it seem that people are locked in to whatever strength and powers they get at awakening. Something I'm sure that will miff enough people off.

I love the idea of Isekai rp though. If you like Solo Leveling, I suggest trying a newer Mawha that has similar vibes called The Lone Necromancer. It doesn't have many chapters yet but it is still releasing about once a week. Its world seems a lot more robust than Solo Leveling too.
i second this. randomly picked up Lone Necromancer after I finished Solo Leveling and it's a gr8 read and could be a gr8 site.

they bringing back the stats feeling bby jk jk
I feel like the only issue this would be is that you'd have to have staff make like 20 different classes with their own skills already premade. Or think of some alternative way to reflect the class system that series uses.

An original RP inspired by mangas like Darwinโ€™s Game, Kaze no Stigma, Solo Leveling, and other similar ones . Setting is modern day. Maybe set a few years in the future? Idea is a strange game starts to appear in odd and random chat rooms. A link to invite appears for a brief time before vanishing. The game is a mobile game that seems harmless at first. Youโ€™ll be able to join a class which will determine the types of abilities you have at your disposal. Iโ€™d love to see the abilities themselves be pretty open in concept. Letting members make these cool and unique characters.

Iโ€™d like the site to be very story driven. With the idea that these powers start rather weak but grow over time. At the start of the site, the powers would be limited to use only in game official events. Where players compete in various challenges or fights. But over course of time the game becomes so popular and so many people have it that it starts to cause the world entirely to become part of the game. Where the event monsters and settings become real and the world has to learn how to adjust.

Iโ€™d say as for site mechanics, probably minor to no real stats outside of stamina perhaps? Abilities would be broken into ranks or types. But Iโ€™d like to see an abilities start rather weak and overtime grow. So there would have to be some sort of experience and level system put into place.

Id love to try my hand at a fma site but I'd be worried, despite how popular it was, that a site would be way too niche t.t

Some kind of au with new rules for how the world works would be Hella cool but even more niche
I feel like FMA is one of those shows/mangas that stuck with people. I feel like it would be tricky to put into a text base RP though.
