!!!!! This!! I could never put it into words before so I stuck with “I feel like I’m someone’s younger sibling that their older sibling’s mother forced to take me along to hang out with their friends and no one really wants me here and they try to pretend they don’t hate me but they’re doing a really awful job”. It’s a genuinely horrible feeling honestly. Dealing with it rn 😔
Thank you both. *hugs* It's definitely something I know will go away but feeling like the third-wheel just sucks. And it feels like it's flipping between either being IRL or with my hobbies. Uugggh... Only thing helping is I have some good friends (and a husband) that are here for me and I know I'm loved. But mentally, brain just doesn't want to accept it.

As someone that's normally the rock for people, I just need to tell myself I can rely on people too and don't always need to be in that position...

Honestly, I usually have no issue talking about roleplaying with most of my social circles (sans work). Most of my family and friends already know I play D&D, and thus, even if they aren't as sure with the written form of roleplaying, they still somewhat understand what's going on, just a different medium. (Hell, my mom and dad both tell me to tell my current group hi if I'm over at their house lol). My husband also RPs (though more through MMOs - WoW, FFXIV, GW2, etc) and also knows some of the people in the groups I roleplay with.

As I finish writing this up though, it makes me realize a lot of people I know absolutely don't give a hoot, but also still ask me how my games/roleplay friends are doing from time to time. *insert Owen Wilson wow meme noises here or surprised pikachu face*

I'd have to say I am mirror something of the stat heavy site sentiments. Like I already deal with a job that is heavy in numbers (accounting) and I already love my D&D. I do not need that again on a site.

Otherwise, I'm usually pretty open to most things.

Creating a forum is a lot of work, but I'm glad that this new forum we are working on has a nice, little team going for it now. Sure, there's about 5 of us, but that honestly I think helps from keeping any one person from getting too overwhelmed. We have the lore person, the plot person, the QA person (to make sure the first two makes sense), and two of us at the helm giving ideas, support, and project management. sadly no jcink coder lol

Maybe it's coming from several roleplays where a very small admin team (forums, discord, FFXIV, etc), but I definitely appreciate there being a lot of help for the future of staffing. Like I said, it helps not everything from falling on one person. And I hope, fingers crossed, when we do open, members can see that all of us have put love and care into it.
