Callie's Relationships

Cassandra Cortes:
Her very first canon relationship is with that of her last owner when she was still a slave. Callie was bought by her at the age of 18, already a broken woman who was eager to avoid punishment. She did so well in her service that Cassandra considered her a 'favorite' and made her into something of a pet project. There were several NPC slaves that Callie interacted with during this time, but they all found her presence discomforting due to her devotion to Cassandra. Cass had convinced her that not only was she going to experiment on her (by cutting her open and dissecting various parts of her body before having her sister heal the wounds) but that she should be thankful to be doing her part, for being useful since she was unblessed and, in Cassandra's eyes, worth less than dirt. By the end of it, Cassandra even trusted her enough to reveal her plans to become a veritable Goddess. After she turned 25, that year she was kidnapped and taken away by those who were part of the Diaspora, the unblessed migrating across the wasteland, and broken of her addiction to Cassandra's power over her with the help of Lyudmila.

Only after the migration was complete did that truly set in, and her past haunted her for centuries. She often had night terrors and sleep paralysis where Cassandra was basically her sleep paralysis demon, taunting her about how she still missed Cassandra sometimes deep in the back of her mind. Five and half centuries later, in current time, she finally found someone she could trust in, Victoria, who became her bodyguard and lover. With Victoria's help and love, she overcame her fear of Cass and her self-loathing over it, stopped the night terrors, and even eventually got a chance to confront Cassandra, who was still alive thanks to magic (much to Callie's surprise).

Lyudmila Akulova:
One of the rare magic-users or 'blessed' that joined the slaves during the Diaspora, Lyudmila was something of an outcast thanks to her brand of necromantic magic being quite dark and judged heavily by her peers. Lyudmila knew a bit about Cassandra and, seeing the broken Calypso, or Brianna as she was known then, played a great part in helping to break her of her Stockholm Syndrome as best she could. It took most of the journey to do it, but by the end of it, Calypso was ready to start on her new path. Callie admired her for owning her identity as an outcast and they stayed friends all the way up until Lyudy, as she called her, died several hundred years later.

Now, Lyudmila has been integrated into an AI, and on the second iteration of that AI, became the front-facing persona among a litany of AI personas in her robot body. Now, rather than being involved in military work, she is the General Executive, Callie's peer, and with this being a recent development, they're catching up and becoming friends again.

Blade Yang:
Another one-percenter, as they're called, Blade was part of the Diaspora and was another friend of Callie's. He's the military executive, and while he is incredible in that position, remains to be someone that Callie has had differing views and ideas from. He was once banned from being invited to her dinner parties that she often hosts because he couldn't handle his alcohol properly. Between that and their differences, they were estranged for a long span of time. Recently, however, Callie invited him over during a meeting between the two of them in an effort to rebuild the friendship.

Victoria Vulcan:
Callie's junior by about 400 years, Victoria was born and raised in Oasis and became a killer pretty young, compared to most. She was taken in by Lacrivo's Security Force (LSF) by a mentor who saw her as lost and eventually learned to control her urges. It was found later that she also had a very rare affinity for magic of all kinds, but she was only able to use this outside of Oasis' borders due to the magic suppression system that covers the whole city.

Recently, Callie took to interviewing people about being her bodyguard and Victoria happened to apply, getting the position on the spot when Callie saw just how much gall she had and how skilled she was. Her incredibly chill personality was a great compliment to Callie's tendency to be uptight and cold all the time, and since she was now her 24/7 bodyguard, they learned enough about each other to understand one another pretty quickly. It helped that they were both Wolf folk. This was cemented further when Vicky learned that Callie enjoyed cooking and, being a glutton who ate surprising amounts of food, Callie found her way to Vicky's heart through her stomach.

One night, Callie was having a night terror and Vicky thought she was under attack, rushing in from the room where she slept to the sound of yelling. Callie, in her most vulnerable moment in five and a half centuries, revealed her past and her pain to Vicky and their true bond as lovers began from there.

Olympia Kyriaku:
Another one-percenter, Olympia is slightly younger than Callie but managed to get above her in position in Lacrivo. Part of the Trifecta that sits just below the Director, Olympia is responsible for decisions and management even above Callie. They remain friends from way back, but that relationship is somewhat more distant now since the both of them work so hard and Callie is lowkey a little jealous of the fact that she got the position that she wanted for herself. She still hopes to join her, but unless something drastic happens, that isn't likely anytime soon.
