We are an OC-only Arknights roleplay set in an alternate timeline where Rhodes Island failed to stop the war between Ursus and Yan from starting. Although we primarily focus on Arknights and its story, we strive to be an open and welcoming community to all sorts of people. This means that everyone is welcome, even if you do not play Arknights!

Not only are we not a lore-heavy site, but we are also a site that's plot is member-driven. The staff has taken great care in condensing all lore into bite-size pieces for you to enjoy, and we have also done most of the heavy legwork in terms of researching Arknights. the world of preluding lights

Preluding Lights takes place in a canon-divergence timeline of Arknights, meaning it takes place on the planet of Terra. Terra is a planet not dissimilar to ours. It has carbon-based life forms, oxygen, and even gravity!

What sets the world of Terra apart from ours is the existence of magic in the form of Originium Arts, magic borrowed from the energy of the mineral of its namesake, Originium. All Terrans have a natural ability to manipulate Arts, and many people are capable of even basic forms of Arts.

Arknights characters have similar features to us humans, but there are a few key differences. Characters can range from having small animal characteristics (ears, tails, etc.) to being full-on anthropomorphic. Most of these races are called Ancients.

Terra is a science fiction, dystopian society with elements of high fantasy. There are also chances here on Preluding Lights to play out your slice-of-life fantasies, but make no mistake: this is a story about war.
