Other than pixel, i haven't seen any animanga based resources our there. and i know that rl and original use pixel also. i do feel that it would be good to have a pixel adjacent jcink site. while the communities are very similar, it would be good to have at least the code resources split across both for ease of access, but i also know it'd be an absolute hassle to get it going. however i wouldnt be opposed to seeing it happen or helping out where i could.

For reference, currently I'm working on my newest project's site skin and needing to make sure that the colours work for both light and dark mode, I had to do mock-ups in Figma for comparison and making revisions for both themes where needed. It's not as simple as just swapping out hex codes in the root variables when you swap to another theme, sadly.

okay but this is gorgeous. T.T

i didnt mean for it to come across offensive... i also have astigmatism, horribly, which causes everything to look like stars. but i also have chronic migraines and other light sensitivities that make light skins impossible. it was not an attack... I understand the need for accessibility, which is why I have people sensitive to both ends of the light spectrum on my staff team. and yes, some admins are weird about it, but a lot of them have toggle skins now. and a lot of times if people tell me something is too difficult to read, i'll change it. make fonts bigger, change the colors used. -and i know this whole thing isn't about me- but as an admin that has had people ask before, it should never be hard to ask staff for changes, and if it is, then maybe there needs to be more open conversation between staff and members. it's not that hard to change things. it's also not that hard to ask. I'm sorry that there are staff out there that have made fun of you before, but I promise not everyone is like that. if their goal is not member comfort, then idk why they're staff.

It sucks to pass on a site because it offers only Dark Mode skins, and my dumbass astigmatism causes halation and makes it physically impossible to participate.
I relate to this so much.

It sucks when I would possibly join a site but there’s just some things about the layout that makes it difficult to do so. It’s great to include as many options as possible, if possible.

Quote both, because this is def a thing that swings both ways. Light skins are far too much for me lol. On that note though, I do appreciate a good toggle. Also though, if you find a site where you'd really like to be, you can always ask the staff if they ever plan on or would consider adding in a light skin option. As a staff, I'd rather people tell me "this is too dark, can we have a light skin too?" and let me work on it than pass up an opportunity to play somewhere that they might otherwise enjoy. I understand not all staff is like this, but sometimes it doesn't hurt to ask. ^.^
