I've been working on an urban supernatural RP that can lean some amount into survival horror, based on how you build your character; for fight, flight or stealth.

  • It starts with an alternate Earth, in the year 2029. Strange things have started happening around the world, like Chicago disappearing off the map in a flash of light.
  • Then, on New Years, 2030, a mutagenic fog rolls in and covers everything the eye can see. Your home, a quaint little port city, is just barely saved by a mysterious fog-warding light that bursts to life over your heads.
  • Those who were affected by the "Gloom" but didn't lose their minds in the process are able to safely traverse it, so we get some missions and events there.
  • There'd be a progression system for getting new/improved mutations or mission-centric equipment, with some light d6 dice rolling used during events, but zero incentive for PvP.
  • No factions, everyone's on the same team and that team is surviving the world's apparent doom.
  • Although there is some dramatic tension/mystery from unaffected humans not being sure if they can trust their new-altered comrades to remain... human.

The part I've been worried about is that I wanted to try using licensable character designs from Booth.pm in place of traditional face claims. (I promise they have free options, I made a doc!)

Would anyone be interested in something like that?

The groundwork is mostly already done, if I'm being honest. I just haven't had many people to share it with.
