My mom and I found a litter of four abandoned kittens, about a month old? Their momma is pregnant and she won't feed them anymore. So! We made a safe space for them in our garage, cleaned them up. They can eat dry kibbles at least, so I'm not that worried about how they'll eat. I'm a bit worried about what to do with the next batch the momma cat leaves. Can't afford to fix them all, and I would hate to send them to a shelter of all places : (

Honestly, having a coding buddy sounds fun! Let's scream about designs and inspo together. Spam each other WIPS and motivate each other to finish projects. I picked up coding again after almost two years and my aesthetic is so... rusty? I'm trying my best to redefine it.

SPICA'S WISHLIST

FAVORITE COLOR(S): pink, fruity colors, pastel space-y colors.
FAVORITE FC(S): i'm eyeing d.va, sailor moon, and touken ranbu faces lately.
FAVORITE SERIES: life is strange (all seasons), nier: automata, final fantasy xv, nagi no asukara, and sailor moon
MISC FAVORITES: i like kpop! specifically loona with bts as a runner-up. recently digging joji and lo-fi stuff.

CODING: i'll be happy with a template using the colors listed above! one space for an image would be nice. my aesthetics: space or cotton candy. i'm mostly on jcink, so a jcink template is preferred!
ICONS: some discord icons? anything meme-y or colorful.
ART: i would love an art piece! anything from my listed fandoms would make my day. what would make my entire month is some fanart of my character chuck, the blonde boy. (psa: follow pearl, she's an amazing artist).
MISC: fanmixes for life is strange only, general mixes for folk indie or lo-fi. some fanfiction would be nice. something depressing or something spooky and suspenseful.

PLEASE AVOID: no nsfw, no metal or country.

THINGS I CAN MAKE: all i can offer are templates. i can do whatever you'd like (tabs, toggles, hovers, etc) as long as there's no javascript involved. i'll code for jcink only.

Mostly reiterating what everyone else said - here's how I go about inspiration.

Unless I'm skinning, I almost always wing it. Mostly because I'm lazy and it's fun to go in blind without expectations. Before I begin, I piece together a mockup in my head. If there's nothing at mind, I think of a key element or two (ex: a diamond image and a boxy-stitched layout/a collage of font icons for decoration) and ponder on interesting ways to incorporate it into a design. As I work, I stop to critique what could be changed to amplify the aesthetic.

As for where I pull inspiration from: A combination of analyzing my favorite codes and designs on sites like dribbble/pinterest/behance/instagram/tumblr/etc.

I have a lot to learn about design and I haven't actually studied the fundamentals yet. I just go with what looks nice. I'm planning to learn it soon, though!
