i struggle a lot with this too. but i think it's important to step back and look at your work not as how you see it, but how everyone else sees it. bc while all you see as the person who made it as a failure of what you wanted it to be, no one else sees or even knows that. all they see is a sickass code that you made yourself, which is a skill not everyone has.

honestly i was like this for years, too. as a dyslexic and a very visual, hands-on learner, tools like scratchpad (may god rest her soul) and now codepen were a godsend. i'm sure you're using codepen or something similar already, but what made coding click for me was being able to see what i was doing as i was doing it really helped it "click". feel free to hmu on discord for resources, if you'd like. we all start somewhere! i'd never heard of figma before, but it looks pretty cool, actually. another visual tool that i will be bookmarking for sure lol

driving to and from tomah wisconsin yesterday and seeing the smoke creepily descend further and further, especially on the way back. the minneapolis skyline that just disappeared even though we were right next to it. yikes. heavy thoughts and sorrows for canada.

i'm a hack and a fraud who can only skin in dark tones fr. i'm trying to do a midtone skin rn and i am STRUGGLING. i know midtone skins are harder in general but i feel so outside my comfort zone that i just want to bash my head into a wall

honestly i agree with you. i think a lot of it has to do with the fact that people started selling skins, and skins came with all this extra stuff such as board mods, extra templates, etc and it became the standard. also we got older and our skills improved so the standards got higher.

people who cannot code do not understand just how much work this stuff is. they think they do, but they do not. like even the smallest thing can take hours to do and they'd never know unless they've done it themselves, but they demand it because it's become the standard. frankly i kinda miss just the sidebars + header life of v4 proboards (it would certainly be faster to skin LMAO)
