no idea what this is but the img is rather sexy
Just me judging a book by its cover and title. I'd buy it at Barnes and noble.
if a book was advertised like this with the question 'what makes a villain?' i too would buy

short answer: u are what u consume

better answer: as someone who actively dabbles in both communities, it really depends on the rpg in question. face claims are largely not my concern - i prioritize an interesting concept/story first and foremost, and if the hooks sound gucci only then do i begin to hunt for a face claim.

if i want to write camp, comedy, etc, my imagination cannot exaggerate toon force (cartoon logic) without animated face claims. other times i'm looking for something a bit more esoteric / high concept, and usually i can only find that in the rlrp sphere.

rp politics does also influence my rp decisions but idk, animanga rpc seems to be providing better setting ideas than rlrp these days. southern gothic is not my scene ok O_o

"Oh dazzling sunshine, darkness will always arrive to swallow the sun, just as I will always bring you another dose of Stars and Dreams and Gentle Night. Death is just a matter of time, dreamlet. And Life is not that dreary, alas!"

definitely not my last post, just me being reminiscent about my affably evil man (zzz)

i barely remember what i said last week let alone last year but lets try this again

- gonna be selfish with #1 but i'd like to start either married or engaged for once. the couple in question don't even need to get along. basically sites don't last long enough for slow burns and i'd rather write the marriageable problems than the 30 year old bronte spinster.

- return to my camp roots aka gags and reels, the unique quirks that define characters like claudia from interview w the vampire, the daisy buchanans or the harley quinns of the world. + commit to their convictions also, whether they be diabolical or downright pathetic.

- recognize my limits and set a soft cap on threads.

- reply faster lol

What specifically do you really want to see in a superpowers site?

a mega-metropolis that caters to and mass produces the top brass super heroes and villains in the world. if a character wants to make it in the world of super heroism - this is the place to go. while there are middling heroes who still struggle to make a name for themselves (or busy fighting the status quo, because reckless showboating can lead to collateral ruin) - others bask in the glory of celebrity with sponsorships, agencies and endorsements behind them.

What specifically do you want to see avoided?

having people start super strong with no handicap/drawback sucks and should be avoided.

What media makes you interested in the super heroes/villains genre? (e.g. Marvel)

thematically, The Boys / Invincible comes to mind. i'm also a huge fan of the OPM (One Punch Man) structure as far as systems and society go.

What are your thoughts on power-scaling in modern-day role play? (i.e. "I want a structured system," "I want ample room for creative powers," etc.)

the only kind of system i'm interested for a superhero/villain concept would be the kind that determines a character's "celebrity" or social status, via reputation/infamy. something that's similarly aligned with OPM's intricately designed ranking* system, which relies on more than just combat ability (like popularity/reputation, contributions to the community, actual real world accomplishments etc). all in all, 'talent' should never be exclusive to power.

*rank can directly impact the items you can purchase, quests you can take, etc. higher level missions = the bigger the reward type thing, with an added little scale for members to reference (ex. if you have x influence you will be recognized in costume.) once the character gains enough influence they can apply for the test to jump into the next category (class c to class b). characters could also sign up for an endorsement or an agency, assuming they have all the right per-requisites.

this may be the nostalgia talking but there will never be a better time for pop music than the 2000s. 2010s was a heavy blend of meshing in edm + the rise of boy bands, so it lacked any sense of originality at least in my opinion. 2020s pop (so far) feels very social media focused, as in that if you've heard the song once through tiktok, you've heard it a thousand times. each era definitely has songs that shine through! I just feel pop really came into its own in the 2000s personally.
my favorite these days is late 1990s hiphop (been listening to a lot of mrs lauryn hill).
