iirc yoshi-p has said that he doesn't like the whole "male only" "female only" races and he doesn't want to do them. i think there was also some backlash about the female only miqo'te pre-ARR? not sure if i'm remembering right but yeh

the leaker, blufever, has been right about everything so far (as kappaccino said). the funny thing is, they've gone dark, probably because they realised they've "said too much" and they're laying low for a while, as though they actually have something to lose. plus, the dev team definitely seem like they're prepping for viera, at least, what with the ivalice raids and the bonewicca sets; the boots definitely look like they could work for viera feet, which is part of why the team decided to step away from viera and do au ra instead, and a lot of the gloves have claws, which is a very viera aesthetic >3>

not getting my hopes up though 😂 i don't want to be disappointed plus there's always fanon

ANYWAY ON TOPIC

alongside more customization options, it'd be cool to see a 'third clan' for each of the races we currently have, so like, doman or garlean hyurs and ishgardian elezen. maybe a bulky type of miqo'te, not like roegadyns but something that's more like the bulkiness of a tiger, that'd be sick. not sure what they can do for the other races tho

new races uhh... aside from viera, i do think a race based upon plants would be cool, like they have plant features like vines and flowers and thorns, and greenish skin. they'd be a human version of the sylphs, so they'd work since they're not a beast tribe.

100% though i just want far more options on the character creator. stop using the 'server limitations' excuse, spaghetti code can be fixed plzz i jsut want to choose an au ra's horns separate from their face, and have better face options tooooo
