Reluctant Heroes is a 15+ alternate universe roleplay set in the fandom of Attack on Titan/Shingeki no Kyojin. A few details have been changed - for instance, the 104th Cadet Corps were conscripted or signed up only a few months after the Fall of Wall Maria. Now set in 847, the corps are about to graduate, only for Titans to flood the district of Utopia. Our current site plot event revolves around this attack, though we welcome posts being written before this event.

We accept both original and canon characters. Below, I'll showcase a number of canon characters we're looking for, though be sure to check out our full canon list!

Due to our members being both or either anime and/or manga fans, events taking place from the beginning of season 3/chapter 52 must be tagged as spoilers on site, or placed in our #spoilers channel on Discord.

Typically found at Reiner's side, Bertholdt is quiet and capable, often underestimated.

Hannah Diamant - from an undisclosed place within Wall Rose
Bright and cheerful, she's best known for her hopefulness and optimism.

Reiner Braun - from places currently unknown
A member of a certain trio, Reiner is one of the finest cadets in his intake, and spends the majority of his time in the company of Bertholt.

Hannes - a unit captain
A kind and good-natured man, Hannes was a somewhat irresponsible soldier, often drunk on duty. He cares deeply for Eren and Mikasa.

Kitz Weilman - captain of the 1st Division Elite Forces
Despite his strength as a soldier, he struggles with paranoia in stressful situations, and may act without fully looking at the details of the situation.

Dennis Aiblinger - a ranking officer
A rather lazy and laid-back ranking officer, he is stationed in Stohess District and shirks his duties to younger soldiers. He's a habitual gambler and drinker.

Kenny Ackerman - member of the First Interior Squad
An ambitious and ruthless individual, he hides his emotions as he carries out his orders, showing neither remorse nor pleasure.

Nile Dok - commander
Rational and adaptable, he approaches situations by weighing all options before him. He does not condone corruption, but does not have full control over those beneath him.

Dita Ness - a team leader
Often responsible in teaching new recruits how expeditions work, he never takes his job lightly, though has a light-hearted side, particularly with his horse.

Gelgar - member of Squad Mike
A very serious soldier, he believes strongly in Mike's decisions and abilities. When not in danger, he does manage to relax.

Marlene - a team leader
Experienced and professional enough to lead her own team, she is also a cheerful and somewhat playful woman, teasing her colleagues.

Dimo Reeves - merchant
Selfish to the extent of endangering other lives, he is honest and puts his own survival and his business before all else, unless convinced otherwise.
