[ season 3 spoilers below ]


These are the main characters I'm seeking to further plots! Each have plot ideas shared with characters of mine, but they definitely have further potential than that. There's a mixture of canon and original characters here, starting with listing the canon characters. Ask questions about any below, or contact me directly on Discord (webs#4562)/PM! Connections highlighted in red are my own characters. For reference, I write Eren Jaeger.

Darius Zackly, commander of the three military branches
Zackly has a lot of power in his hands, and plenty of interesting details to him. The primary reason for requesting him is for The Trial of Eren Jaeger, in which he will decide Eren's fate. I'm open to exploring more with the two of them past canon, for instance Zackly watching him closely as a possible tool to use in his ambitions or plans, or else trying to find ways to get rid of this Titan-Shifting boy.

Dot Pixis, Garrison commander of Wall Rose's southern territories
Pixis is the first commander who finds out about Eren and the ability to Titan-Shift. He is present in Assault on Utopia and may have been by the Outer Gate when the Attack Titan attacks the abnormal titans guarding it. Typically stationed in Trost District, he also has many Garrison soldiers to lead both in Trost and around the southern territories.

Keith Shadis, head instructor of the Training Corps
Shadis has his past, both in connection to the Jaeger family and the Survey Corps. I think he is someone Eren would look up to, but they certainly had their moments during his training. There's a great many cadets who would train under him from 845, and many more Scouts commanded by him. I also imagine he'd likely serve some part in the Trial of Eren Jaeger, as Eren is still a cadet.

Rod Reiss, true king of the Walls
Known primarily as Lord Reiss, Rod is the true king of the Walls and the one pulling the strings from behind the royal government. He is, however, somewhat powerless even then, especially with the likes of the First Interior Squad. His interest in Eren might be enough that he even visits the captive boy prior to the trial - or even attempt to have him kidnapped, only for the mercenaries or people used be caught.

Marlene, Survey Corps team leader of Squad Marlene
There's very little known about Marlene, and not much about her squad either. It would be really interesting if she's quite a new team leader, and takes on some of the graduates of the 104th Cadet Corps during the Induction to the Regiments. Her cheerfulness would be pleasant for the graduates, and I think my Axel Falkenrath would look up to her.

This cadet (104th or later) is the maternal cousin of Axel Falkenrath, and all details about her are up to you! Her family is from Trost District, her aunt is Silke Falkenrath of the Garrison, and what she aspires to be is very open. If she and Axel trained together, I imagine that he'd urge her to choose what she feels enables her to help the most people, no matter what she does.
Face Claim: Yukino Yukinoshita from OreGairu
Vidar ---, cadet and Wall Maria noble
Vidar is a refugee from a part of Wall Maria, and is initially moved to Trost District. There they meet Axel, who gives them some bread after noticing how hungry they are and how they were unable to get rations one day. They form a bond with Axel, who sees them as someone who needs help, and the two eventually become friends, whether Vidar enlists or not.

Reluctant Heroes is looking for some military canons, though original characters are very welcome as well!


Dot Pixis
Dot Pixis, Garrison commander of the Southern Territories
Commander Pixis is the most high-ranking Garrison official in Wall Rose, and is highly respected, with decades of experience under his belt. Following the Fall of Wall Maria, he helped handle the influx of refugees to Wall Rose, and with our Assault on Utopia event, he was called to assist in defending Utopia District in the north, bringing with him his Elites. He is integral to the plot of Reluctant Heroes, especially with Eren Jaeger's trial, and in communicating with Commander Erwin Smith of the Survey Corps.


Darius Zackly
Darius Zackly, military general
General of the three military branches, General Zackly is an imposing figure and one essential to the inner workings of the Walls. He appears to be a strict military leader and one who does what is best for humanity, open to logical solutions and reasoning. Zackly presides over the trial of Eren Jaeger and will be instrumental to military plots, and communicating with the commanders of each military branch.


Mitabi Jarnach and Rico Brzenska
Mitabi Jarnach and Rico Brzenska, team captains of the Elite Garrison squads
Two of the most experienced Garrison team leaders, Mitabi and Rico work alongside Ian Dietrich and under the command of Dot Pixis. They have their own squad members that answer to them, and are given the most important and difficult tasks in defending Wall Rose. During the Assault on Utopia, they are commanded by Pixis to assist in the defence of Utopia District. They may pick up some of the 104th Cadet Corps graduates to fill in their squads.

Mike Zacharias
Mike Zacharias, Survey Corps squad leader
Squad Leader Mike is humanity's second strongest, and one of the most experienced of the Survey Corps. He has a nose for titans, with such a strong sense of smell that he can smell them based on the scent of sulphur on the wind. His squad is one of the best, though he might be interested in picking up some of the more interesting graduates of the 104th Cadet Corps.

Site Overview

Reluctant Heroes is a 15+ Attack on Titan/Shingeki no Kyojin roleplay forum. We begin at the Fall of Wall Maria and write our own version of events, with unique plot lines, original characters, and interpretations of canon characters. After Wall Maria is lost, the military begin conscripting cadets as well as accepting enlistments, and the 104th Cadet Corps begins mere months after the Fall.

We have a Discord server for out-of-character communication and plotting, but all writing takes place on the forum!

Currently, we're set in 847, with titans flooding Utopia District with abnormal behaviour. We use fluid time so backdating threads is allowed and encouraged!

Available Canons

Note: In this alternate universe, the 104th Cadet Corps train together - there are no divisions based on areas, instead they move training grounds & barracks each year to different locations. Hitch and Marlowe would train with Eren & the rest of the 104th we follow throughout the main series!

CONNIE SPRINGER
Connie was born and bred in Ragako, a village in the southern region of Wall Rose. Although galvanized by a fierce desire to make his family proud, he will soon experience the fear and uncertainty felt by those living in the shadow of the outermost Wall. While Connie may struggle with comprehension occasionally, he will ultimately make for an outgoing, humorous and optimistic cadet.

HITCH DREYSE
Girlish, lazy and in some ways immature, Hitch is happy to cut corners wherever possible. With that being said, she is also a talented cadet and is capable of applying herself whenever it will be of benefit to her.

MARLOWE FREUDENBERG
Stoic, tall and dark-haired, Marlowe is a righteous individual with aspirations to join the Military Police. His intentions are noble and, whatever faction he ultimately chooses, he will certainly excel as a soldier.

THOMAS WAGNER
Pessimistic and a touch cowardly, Thomas doesn't seem built for a military life. That being said, he rallies to his friends and comrades when required, and seems able to control his fear to some degree. There is little canon information on him, besides him being from Trost District, so whoever so takes him up will have a largely blank slate to work from.

Hi, Lackadaisical! I think Reluctant Heroes might possibly appeal to you, if you're familiar at all with Attack on Titan/Shingeki no Kyojin. Of the points in your post, we fulfil:

- a discord server with member interactions, plotting, and tagging
- an active, inclusive, and very friendly site - we pride ourselves on being supportive, understanding, and friendly
- we have 3 staff members and, as of writing this, 20 members (some on hiatus, some may leave in our next roll call/activity check)
- daily posts!
- you can pick between our traditional app (with fields covering appearance, personality, strengths/weaknesses/fears/aspirations, and history) or a freeform app (which you can input your own fields or fleefrow writing, whatever you like, within our template)
- we've been open for 3 years!
