Hello hello, it's koala here with an interest check once again. Last year Rot and Ruin dropped and it was a good run. Though with "All of us are dead" out on Netflix (great show, would recommend), I've been bitten with the zombie apoc bug once again and wanted to see if it was worth bringing the site back? However, upon bringing it back I wanted to know what aspects of a zombie apocalypse the community would be looking for? The site itself is up but will be tweaked and renovated before opening so it won't be too long of a wait depending on feedback here

Currently, the site has these features available: Various Classes for each character to pick and choose from. Each class harbors perks and special weapons/items that can be bought from the survival store. The Survival Store is an outpost oocly where characters can use their earned coins to purchase weapons, items, another class, as well as strongholds for survival groups. The Star Stat System which is an easy system that helps the bashing of zombies in modded threads. Each weapon has an accompanying star rating. Star ratings of matching or higher ratings of a zombie allow them to be slain by that weapon. Very simple. The Inventory System is a means of keeping all of your goods and weapons in one place.

I would like to incorporate a half-zombie half-human race alongside the survivors at some point within the plot progression as well as introduce a new means of events that won't require actual thread participation but will allow for new areas of the site to be explorable and found through story chapters and arcs. This is still a prototype idea but I would like to try it out if feedback is well-received for Rot and Ruin's return! And once again, I'm open to all ideas for other additives to the site as well. i've been craving for some apocalyptic stuff, so i'm keeping a close eye on this one! i do have a question: will there be different zombie types aside from the generic ones? i'd think they'd be a nice addition if they haven't been implemented! if they are then ignore this and know that i'm still interested lol

oooh i love this

iโ€™m a big faction girl and i also just think itโ€™s the gateway to easy conflict and easy plotting but ANYWAY, i missed the first iteration of this; are there guilds or groups that people join or are there just strongholds that people congregate to?

my opinions on your potential 'new features', having events that unlock permanent new areas would be nice. it gives a sense of progression, and doesn't force people to be on a time limit esp if they're busy. plus it could be another way to introduce new survival items and what not. i also, this is just my take, would use it as a chance for digression. where one safe zone becomes overrun thus forcing those survivors to move to the new safe zone, but in turn lose some stuff. altho i think there are some who be opposed to the notion since you would be sort of starting over.

as for the half-zombies, i think be cool to have some survivors as such. it could be a result of living in a world with zombies for so long, that the body has partially adapted to the zombie apoc. not to mention i can see it create conflict among survivors, and well i'm a angsty bean. gonna add that im in agreement with aze, if you haven't already, have different arc types of zombie or potentially introduce more later on. overall i'm interested in this sort of thing, it gives me left4dead/back4blood vibes.

[ ] โ€” Yes! Instead of it being simple human turned zombies last the last iteration there will be other forms of mutations that cause monstrosities. Animals, as well as humans, are subject to being turned. The zombies will also have "classes" (loose term) to them to pin their abilities to them. Runners, Tanks, and terms like that! I'm thinking of having them done ICly as well! To add immersion to the player base.


[ + @giga ] โ€” Yup! There will be a site/NPC faction but members are capable of purchasing a pass to create a survival group of playable characters! Purchasing the pass allows you (and those in the group) to have a board created in a location of your choosing which will act as their base! This will also then open more purchasable items from the survival store! The survival group system will also factor into the jobs (missions) that you can participate in for extra coins! Also in regard to half-zombs, I'm thinking of having the slots limited per opened area? Like, as long as one city is open, there can only be x amount of half zombs walking around? And upon opening another, the slots open up as well?

[@specthare ] โ€” Yes! I was thinking of having corrupted blood be something purchasable/earned in an event or modded thread if a playable character/survivor wants to undergo a trial of sorts? And in regards to unlocking/opening new areas, I hadn't thought about the idea of having a previous area overrun... but I like that! An incentive to move back and forth between areas! Could also have specific hordes appear in specific areas that drop limited goodies too?

I also forgot to mention the death and no-death systems. Characters can sign up as death enabled or non-death enabled! death enabled chars experience a more rigorous time and have access to riskier events while non-death chars can still experience the site in full, but won't have to worry about death... as much.

i literally posted about this just a few days ago after seeing aouad and ACTUALLY i saw this site before but was late to the party and i'm excited that it's going back!

i was wondering if there will be some sort of progression system for each class. characters may be built differently at start: some may have good agility and is likely to escape zombie hordes while others are more knwoledgeable and more capable at strategizing raids or even using tools and even making remedies. but through roleplay they progress and improve on these traits or even earn new traits or sumn like that.

[ ] โ€” Yup again! There are character classes that survivors can align themselves with. Each class has its own starter perks and as the plot progresses, gain new ones. These can range from special weapons, skills, talents, and "plot powers" (not so much powers as more so options in modded threads specifically curated to the class lol) As long as the story progresses, expansion is a go!!
