People who ramble and write up long meandering block paragraphs just to explain their stream of consciousness and fumbling over unnecessary clauses and preemptive over explaining instead of just getting. to. the. damn. point. Why you do this? Cuz now weโre both stressed out lol tbh i'm one of those people whose posts are very long, sometimes drawn out and focused on my characters thoughts or minor actions. i've always been like that. sure, sometime's i'd do the 250 wc post or 500 wc - but typically, if i'm really into the thread, hitting between 800 - 1k is my average (with higher amounts coming depending on whats happening).
i love writing long posts when the thread and characters are interesting to me. i love writing my characters thoughts about what's going on, what's been going on to bring them to this point and just explore them internally through writing. i love writing very minor things that are probably glossed over by the majority of people i used to rp with, because i enjoy putting subtle hints at my character maybe being nervous, anxious, etc without openly saying it. i just like drawing things out and writing until i think, okay, this is enough im satisfied with that and by the time it happens sometimes i'm over 1k on the second post of the thread and im like well fuck.
i've been told by a lot of people up front that they didn't want to rp with me because of it. some said they were scared they wouldn't be able to match my wc so they didn't want to have a thread. and honestly, even though i always tell people i don't care if i get 50 words or 2000, i respect them for telling me that they didn't want to rp because i get it.
if long, more drawn out posts aren't your thing than let the person know and maybe stick with people who write in a way that helps you write too??maybe it's not even long posts but just that persons writing that isn't helping, which is okay too. you don't have to love everyone's style.
also, on the flip side to op's post, people could say that writing short posts give nothing to understanding the thread or character and are bland. to write it as they did: explore. your. character. more. Why you do this? You might as well not make a character lol. and you know ... fuckin yikes. let ppl write the way they want and if you aren't into it just don't rp with them and call it a day
