lately I've been trying to reason out my anxieties, especially providing at least, say, 3 steps or reasons why the thing I'm worrying about isn't true (no, people don't inherently hate me, because xyz)... it's worked so far, but I find that my concerns come back more often now, and trying to remember those steps/reasons every time can be so deeply annoying

i vaguely remember animanga editing forums waaaaaaaaay back. i wish those were a thing again. all i have now is nostalgia from deviantart and spanish gfx groups that i can't get into because i can't speak spanish u_u
you've just unlocked so many old memories of gazing at dreamtexture longingly through that language barrier ...

but I seriously second this!! those old deviantart groups & tutorials helped so much.

after spending the better part of the weekend asleep, waking up every 8 hours to Consume Soup, and swiftly passing out again, I have concluded that maybe getting 4 hours of sleep an ordinary night isn't healthy... sure wish I could do something about it //sobs

skins

(click spoilers for info
+ more screenshots which can be clicked for enlarging)

skin 1

this was the first skin I'd ever created ft. my terrible knowledge of paintings, and it's almost completely grayscale. It features a simple miniprofile that switches from left to right and a sticky avatar. the cursor inverts the colors of whatever it passes over.

skin 3

this entire skin uses 2 colors. it's... partially responsive? which is to say, it looks fine on a phone but doesn't if you are using a computer browser window shrunk down very, very small

skin 4

the first colorful skin for the website in question. the index runs on grid, the header (inspired by the website of a designer, Ayaka Ito, which is linked at the bottom of the index) and board stats change color on refresh, the profile is tabbed, and every page has a different color scheme.

Hey, I'm Claire! I've been making templates and themes for forums for about 2 months. I am very bad at keeping things up-to-date, but hopefully this won't be the last time I see you all. If I ever post any free-to-use templates, this is where i'll make a masterlist for them all.

[break]

some of the qualities I like are ultra-minimalism (I've been trying to make things with only 2 colors), serif fonts, and css grid

[break]

I also make graphics, but I don't have any good examples right now (0u0)

what if a closed thread could be "broken into" for example? Where logically a character that would be in that location, stroll in, and interact with the characters with their predetermined plot. Sure itd be uncouth, rude, and pretty uncomfortable for the two that had plotted initially, but would that make the thread feel more alive in a way? Like. Sure. Villains collabing to rob from a bank is cool! But what if a hero patrolling that sector (which logically makes sense) decided to step in and stop what was happening?
i stole this from here, & i don't wanna quote the person bc it's like a year old lol
but i've been thinking about it lately. bc it seems like a neat idea. & maybe these threads could be labeled with like...i 'unno some letter to let potential ambushers that they're welcome? "a" perhaps
i remember once jokingly suggesting an rp concept where every month or so, every thread becomes automatically opened up -- from this point, characters could join in and wreak havoc to the point that activity checks become unnecessary because everyone is dying off at an alarming rate ... in hindsight, i think this is pretty impossible to imagine even as a joke

i'm absolutely a fan of different forms of character intervention, though !! and i really enjoy messing around with anything unconventional. i love toying around with thread setting, characters, content, & so on, but i really have no idea how widely 'ambush' threads would catch on in the community at large, since it would require so much vagueness in the level of detail in the writers' individual character plots and possibly also the site setting (i see frequent outsider intervention being much more common in i.e. fantasy settings than something like slice-of-life)

i wonder what a serial experiments lain rp site would be like, that'd be cool
my first instinct upon seeing this was just to get very excited, like a little dog

but at the risk of sounding like a broken record, I would really enjoy something like this or, for that matter, anything based on that kind of early 90s idea of cyberpunk... a world where the 'real life' and its people carry an undercurrent of detachment and aggression, but a very active virtual reality/club scene populated by hackers + with a subculture centered around exploring psychedelic elements, cyberspace, questions of identity and other trippy things that start to bleed into everyone's mundane lives... it's all so good (^q^)
