INSPIRATION & ORIGIN
The Abbiati are an ancient house from Hoenn during the primordial times. It is then that they developed their belief system and way of life - by the sea. Sootopolis is the first recorded homeland for the family of priestess and healers, shamans and trainers; perhaps even royalty at a time, given their sigil. Yet, despite all of this, their power waned. As the sea became more of a tool than a sacred space, the more tradition was left to rot. It was this rotting that broke the Abbiati in two branches. There were those that remained in Hoenn, but fled Sootopolis to find safety from
something in Slateport, and lived there as minor magicians and con artists until the name meant little more than wet sand underneath one's feet. Then there were the Abbiati who fled to the mighty Sea and found themselves swept up into a storm, and eventually, in the ice-capped waters of Snowpoint in Sinnoh. Here, the religion developed even further and their beliefs flourished, undisturbed for generations.

Now, however, this house of salt and stone is reawoken. Hoenn best be ready for the return of the Abbiati. The current head of the house reigns in Sootopolis like her ancestors before, some even going so far as to call her a queen.

ABBIATI OF SLATEPORT
With their fall, whether it be from grace or terror, the Abbiati fled to another seaside city - Slateport. Here, they tried to begin anew. Their faith was serious at first, yet, as generations passed, the Abbiati of Slateport began to fall to the corruption of the city. Their beliefs became games and cons, stripping those who came to them for blessings and test of faith of their coin to aide their crumbling house.

ABBIATI OF SNOWPOINT
Like a flowing river, the Abbiati branched off to far and distant lands; yet, stumbling to the city of snow in the frigid north was not on purpose, or at least by their own hand. Tales of a great storm that wracked and thundered the very sea itself is said to have blown the Abbiati to Snowpoint long, long ago. Here, they sought shelter in an ancient temple and it was here, in the temple of stone that the Abbiati continued their customs.
In fact, their religious fervor was reinvigorated. These Abbiati believed it was by the grace of their gods that they survived that terrible storm and found the temple they would soon come to guard and live in.

Their original home, the Abbiati of Sootopolis are only one: Olivia. She alone is bringing her house of salt and stone life again, or will die trying.

abbiati are matriarchal to the EXTREME. snow point (and original) branch keep no sons and give them up for adoption (alluded that male children were sacrificed in the olden days). slateport branch has been known to sell their male children or keep them around for brute strength.[break][break]

Selene is a twin brother and protector. Selene is abusive. Not physically abusive at all, but more so in a possessive and controlling way of his sister twin, making her doubt herself. His natural affinity with pokemon makes him a powerful trainer. He is the one who put the food on the table when their mother died. He's physically stronger than her as well, due to the training of his pokemon, and his body.

Celeste is a twin sister and classic damsel. She was orphaned early in life and was taken under the care of her twin brother, despite neither of them really knowing how to care for themselves. Celeste enjoys cooking and fishing, spending her time in peaceful situations far from her brother. She is physically weak due to a sensitivity to sunlight, and would much prefer activities in the night.

Diana. This is basically the baddie of the bunch. She is the eldest child of Olivia's family and her sister. She is extremely religious and was one who urged Olivia to Hoenn. Her main goal is to spread the family's cult/religion. Due to the violent nature and sacrifices involved in their beliefs, Diana is proficient in bladed weapons. She is an extreme technophobe.

Pallas, or Palla, is the youngest sister of olivia and diana. she has been isolated the majority of her life, resented by both sisters for 'killing' their mother during child birth. she is extremely religious due to diana's upbringing of her, and sees herself as a failure and mistake.
