Meet Aiji, a man who's rough around the edges and is serious about his work. He's been working at the Police Station for at least 5 years, making him Deirdre's superior. He teaches her the ropes since she's relatively new to Occulte, though he's a strict teacher and perhaps a bit harsh with her when they first meet. During the first couple of months of working together, Aiji constantly questions why she joined the force when she's had no experience with the harsher parts of the world. He even tells her to quit the force, saying she's too "soft-hearted" and that she "doesn't have what it takes".

However, Deirdre is stubborn. While the words sting and pierce through her heart like an arrow, she stays, improving herself as a person and as an officer. He's surprised by her determination and passion for the job, eventually pushing back his pride to confront and apologize to her. He's even more surprised when she forgives him without hesitation, a gentle smile on her lips.

The two of them continue working together, becoming closer with each passing day. Aiji becomes softer, kinder with Deirdre, starting to admire her compassion for those around her. It slowly starts to sink in that he has fallen in love with her, yet he keeps it to himself. Deirdre has also developed strong feelings for the man but doesn't know how to express them with words. Will the two of them be able to confess to one another?
