I recently watched R.I.P.D, and thought of this urban fantasy roleplay inspired after R.I.P.D itself and Haibane Renmei. Basically an action-packed afterlife urban fantasy where the ‘chosen’ guide lost souls, and in severe cases, take down the worst ones and purify them.

A magi-cyberpunk themed dystopian panfandom!

The idea is the characters are all exquisitely genetically engineered clones of the characters we roleplay as. From genetically constructing every detail of their body and physical features, to making near perfect copies of the magical powers they wield (if they did wield one that is), and having their minds ‘download’ their canon memories. Just all this construction which would be obviously impossible for us haha.

When they wake up in the real world, they are only simply told they have been called forth from their world to help mankind from a certain doom (which I honestly don’t know what yet). But gradually, our characters will experience identity crises amongst other things when they learn they are actually clones from worlds which never even existed albeit only through fiction, and leading them to questioning what even their purpose is.

I wanted to try a different take on the panfandom genre where the characters aren’t called from another world but they never existed in the first place till they are made via clones.

Oh and, OCs ranging from original universe, fandom ocs to RP native ocs will be accepted and encouraged!

I apologize for the double post, but I suddenly got a few questions and thoughts I wish to share with you:

Since you say this is an academia type setting, I am wondering about the above school age characters? Would there be a university sect for the university/college age characters? Can the much older characters (say 30+) be like the faculty eg teachers, admin work etc? It would be nice to see the teacher/principal/headmaster role being playable.

I would definitely love to see a panfan spirits where OCs are acceptable! If you could, I would love to see it happen. From fandom OCs to ones from their own worlds and universes and ones who are native to the rp’s setting, I wanna see em all!

Otherwise I would love to see your rp become a reality I would absolutely join. Your take on the panfan spirits seems really fun and I dig it!!
