"This is an entry-level job position and we have paid training! ...Buuuuuut you gotta have 5+ years experience in this field to actually get it lolololol." Apply anyway. A lot of employers will put the qualifications for their ideal candidate, but are willing to hire people with less experience if there's other relevant skills or experience you can show them. Worst they can say is no and it doesn't cost anything to try! I got my current job because I did this. i think the thing of note is the ridiculous credentials/experience companies are trying to require for "entry" level positions. an entry level position does not require 2-3 years prior work experience in your field, and if they're requesting it, they're most likely underpaying for the education and knowledge they know they're getting with that request. yes, many places use it to weed out the people who think "there's no way i'll get this! why even bother?" but, there are legit places out there trying to pull this bullshit on people.
