i will never understand why and how people spill their guts to literal strangers on the internet or even irl like? wtf
At least in Internet spaces unless we're talking, like, giving out addresses and phone numbers in public spaces, actual danging private info, I think a lot of it has to do with the anonymity, or at least the vague idea of it. You can spill your guts lower risk, lower reward to a stranger who will never have a face to the non-name compared to spilling it to a friend or family member. Some people don't have anyone in real life they can really talk to, either, so strangers on the Internet become their only way of letting things out. And, to a point, I think that's fine.
Now, people who are out here like, "Hi, here's my real full name, this is my age, wanna video chat day one? Here's my address if you want to mail me Anthrax (band or bacteria)." I fear for you, child. I fear.
i wanted to add on to this particular sentence with my two little cents and say that, asides from going into actual personal info ayo do u mind sharing ur credit card info too while ur at it, i feel like it's LARGELY more likely to find common interests with strangers on the internet than with ppl irl. simply bc the internet is this one huge ass vacuum of people all over the world that contain obscure interests like, say, jrock as an example, that people will come across. next thing u know, bc these interests are obscure, a bond is formed over them and boom, u got urself what's hopefully a blossoming friendship between these two strangers on the web that'll tell each other (almost) everything, simply bc of their interests and, well, heck, ppl irl may not be as understanding as randos on the internet (from experience, at least).
