Filipino here, too! In my experience, I tend to draw a lot of language and themes from Filipino culture. The hard part is getting to translate them more concisely with my RP partners.

English has always been one of my strongest subjects in school and my coming from a relatively elite/prestigious academic institutions all my life have played a huge part in my English. During my time in the academia, I never had problems with English. I got into clubs where you were required to have good English, and in college, I made money off my English communication skills and it helped keep me alive and put food in my belly during the pandemic.

However, emotional brevity has always been something that I brought to the table as an RPer, and it's why also Taylor Swift resonates so well to Filipinos.

I brought to forum RP a friend who was also Filipino, but unlike me, they had trouble with language, and grammar and diction (they were smart enough to study in one of the state universities), and the difficulties with written communication have played a part in how well their applications and RPing read.

There are times that I've found it tricky to keep up with the current slang in English in US English, but it's manageable.

Welcome to Fortuitous Invitation, an AU Genshin Impact RP set 500 years after the Fall of Khaen'riah!

500 years after the Fall of Khaenriah, despite the relatively recent peace, new challenges slowly are cropping up across
 the seven nations of Teyvat. 
Will you take the call?


The Roleplay
The world of Fortuitous Invitation takes place in the seven nations of Teyvat! You do not need to play the game to participate. 
The known lore of Genshin Impact has been condensed into our Lorebook so that you can reference it with ease.

We will have different story arcs guided by prompts and known lore, but we highly encourage developing your own characters’ narratives 
through interactions with the wide world of Teyvat and her citizens.

We are an OC-only site with a simple combat system as well as a profile application, plot prompts 
per nation. We also do not allow Genshin Impact face claims.

Our Plans
We are currently on our beta testing phase and plan to open our beta to the public soon.

Our current plans include:
-More Harbringer roles opening up
-Future Abyss Order roles opening up
-Khaen'rians will also become playable in the future
-More events

A man - no, a boy, Feng corrected herself - was staring at her, about her height. But something about her automatically clicked, and in her mind's eye, she saw Jie, at the age of seven, crying and miserable and alone. And then another painful memory that endured her: her brother waiting for her after she'd spend all day looking for money and work so that she could come home to him with something. This boy reminded her of them. But she was wary, wary enough that her fist curled around the polearm and her eyes darkened.

I'm not feeling well, boy, Feng wanted to say. Fucking karmic debt and the overuse and overwork. But that was all on her. But she opted to shut her mouth. And take in everything: the friendliness, the way he held his hands behind his back.

"I need to buy something from the stalls." There. She said it, quick and sharp, like a knife. I've had a long day. "I was going to ask you if you wanted something from me." She side-glanced the crowd, then back to him, her stare piercing. "I don't like crowds, so make it quick."


I love writing this character so much. In context, my OC went somewhere to get food, and when she meets someone, she is immediately reminded of some things from her past.
