THE "DEMONS" OF GALSBURG

(enjoy some facts about our vampire species)

While the main citizens reside in Glendale, just outside the towns borders lays a smaller, more hidden town. Littered with dimly lit street lamps and an unusual swarm of bats, Galsburg is where you will find the vampires, and their witchy friends.

-  It is not uncommon for vampires to call one another familial nicknames, as every vampire is a descendant from that of a pureblood.

- Unlike what you may see in mainstream media, our vampires have not two fangs and not four, but an entire mouth of sharp, pointed fangs. Their face does not remain neutral, and instead contorts to that of what can only be described as a true monster.

- Every vampire can shift into a bat, with purebloods and aristocrats being the only  vampires able to shapeshift freely into any animal

- A vampire who does not consume human blood regularly slips into a demented state. There is no such thing as "vegetarian" vampires, for the blood shed by a human is the only substance that can give them life.

- Only Purebloods can turn a human into a vampire, as they possess the venom to. A Pureblood is created with absolutely no human blood within them. Only two purebloods can conceive. An aristocrat x human or common x human will not have a dhampir, but instead a human child with a dormant vampire gene.

- The ranking goes Purebloods (vampires with no human DNA in their family tree). Aristocrats (vampires with a small percentage of human DNA in their family tree) and Common Vampires (also known as ex or former humans)

THE COUNCIL

Six founding families , a century long feud. The founding families know of the vampire’s existence in Glendale, and they’ve done good job keeping it a secret from their fellow citizens. When Glendale was developed in 1764, the cities founders made a treaty with the vampires in the area. It stated that as long as the demons did not feed on anyone within the towns limits, the townspeople would not hunt them. Now, a hundred years later and the laws of that very treaty are threatened. Each year the council holds a series of events , with  The Founder’s Ball and the Founding Parade being the biggest spectacle of the year. It is unknown what the council talks about in their meetings, but one can assume it has to do with the sudden disappearances of Avery Nightingale and April Bennet.

Notes :
- playable as canons
- plothooks include family feuds, a shocking affair, and of course anything you’d like to add
- the council’s face claims are open as are their personas. We have a small blurb for each family, but encourage members to develop them as they see fit

In the depths of night, when the moon hangs low
And the shadows dance in the flickering glow
Lies a world of darkness, of fear and despair
Where the living and dead mingle without a care

A land of mist, of crumbling castles and ruins
Where the air is heavy with the stench of death's doings
And the trees whisper secrets of long forgotten lore
Where the spirits of the past still wander and explore

Historical / Supernatural / Low Magic / Victorian Gothic / Ouji /  Horror

Excerpt from Lore :

”You’ve bloody fed from someone right in front of the theatre , have you gone mad ?!”

”Its time London’s citizens realize the threat that lurks hidden amongst their ranks”
