yes. i feel this profoundly. sometimes music just speaks to me for a character and i just get so much muse (do we still use that term? i dunno) and i just wanna write and i almost forget that i'm illiterate

But additionally I’m one of those people whom is heavily influenced by music- to a point that it’s a little sad. Like I name all my threads (yes, still like it’s 2010) after song titles, all of my ocs have songs that I use for them as their anthems, all of my coded stuff are inspired by music, the list goes on. I can’t not listen to music when I write, otherwise it’s too quiet. I have a playlist entitled “quiet time” that I listen to while I’m writing, unless I’m writing something very specific, and then I’ll just listen to that on repeat. For example, I have an oc whose entire personality is just like, Alice In Chains personified in my brain, so when I write him; I listen to my playlist that’s called “literally just the first two Alice In Chains albums” on repeat. Guaranteed like 500+ word post outta me with that method for that character every time lmao 

my secret is that if I can- I like to cheat and use 100x100 icons as my base lmao. I’ve done it a lot. 

but if I don’t do that and just make it from scratch, I often have to play around with the sizing a lot. Usually I will set the size for whichever dimension is smaller first, since I have less space to work with, and go from there. It also helps to pick a specific part of the image, and not the entire image itself. I’m sure you do a lot of this already, but I dunno what you do and don’t know lmao

My friend who also struggles with anxiety (but is now treating it for the first time) just told me they don’t normally have stress dreams and I am literally flabbergasted. Absolutely befuddled. As someone who frequently has them and has always had them I can’t imagine someone who struggles with anxiety like they do not having stress dreams? Not that I’m upset I’m just astounded, really. I was a wholeass 9 year old having stress dreams every night and my parents were like, “oh yeah she’s fine” lmao 💀
