I have been try-harding my welcoming game. If someone joins, I want them to feel welcomed, so I work hard on that! Even if they don't stay, everyone deserves a nice, warm and happy welcome. ^-^

Waterfalls of whispers changed the rippling tides beyond his control. A man returned from the chilling, gruesome arena where fanfare roared about the spilling of red and claiming of lives. Never would his mind revert entirely to the way he originated. Through his years, he alleged seeing the underbelly of earth’s beast, alas, it was a falsehood. Cloaked in shadows, hiding in the pits of despair, there was always something worse. Nonetheless, the unfolding circumstances manifested a hesitance in bringing forth the disparages of recent happenings.

The blond understood it. Complete comprehension of the thoughts of others as worries of crossing the invisible line entered their minds. Nobody wanted to be the one who summoned the upset. Therefore, people avoided the topic and anything related to brief and connected to requirements of rest. Yet, the cavalier wondered if he was prepared for the discussions about everything that happened. From the blood spilling to the twisted methods of forced fighting, the circumstances were detestable and ultimately diabolical.

Battle crashed around him in a dissonant symphony. Weapons clashed the sound of soft tings from the strikes ringing similar to delicate bells. Coppery scents of blood burned into his nose. Red markers of where injuries occurred dotted across the shimmering white snow. In his steady hand resided an axe, head sheening with blood across the metallic surface. Beads of the red liquid of life trickled down the surface, dripping onto tampered snow beside the unfortunate sap to meet its edge. The man was bashed in, face unrecognizable and body painted with lethal blows.

I always feel so awkward when people point out my affiliates still have inactive ones. I don't have a proper schedule and honestly just do it when I have time to spare since I want to focus on making sure apps go through, claims updated, events out, etc. So really, unless I am adding new affiliates (which I do as soon as I see them), I never really considered it super important and something I can place at the end of my list until the time is available.

That awkward moment when the site organizations get so long that you legitimately are required to make a list of the high-rank history so everyone knows who has had those ranks previously. It is quite nutty...

Due to the way ProBoards formerly operated groups, I sometimes try to edit my members' profiles to try and assign their groups because that used to be how it was done. x.x I get into profile editing area and just sit there like "Wait... this isn't right."

As a staff member I cause randomness like persuading people to add "Eh" to the end of their name cause I am known as the stereotypical Canadian. Chat has now become Canadian stereotypes and humour and as the resident Canadian who acts like a bit of a stereotype, I approve, eh.

I discovered something new that bothers me a year or two ago when running my site because somehow despite my lengthy-time creating sites, this was the first time it happened. I get really annoyed when people try to pretend they read the information, but also say something like "Oh, I never watched that show." as the reason for the confusion. My sites are original role-plays and my current one maybe has 2-3 species based somewhat on a show, but rarely fully. It saddens me since it means the person did not accomplish even a quick skim of the information before turning in their application. Should someone skim, they would have noticed we credit when we get inspirations from shows.

Another thing that makes me sad is when somebody hands in an application for review, I notice something and politely message them and then they openly admit they did not add x thing because they were confused. x.x My staff and I try very hard to come off as friendly so members want to ask us questions. Thus, it bothers me someone decided to try and slip through the cracks rather than coming up and being honest. I am willing to answer any question as long as someone proves to have a vague understanding of the information since that shows effort; only time I hand people a link in this situation is if the site info genuinely explains it better than me. ;-; Even if someone is asking to be spoon-fed so they can avoid reading, I answer for a little bit before providing links to the information they seek.

I do not understand how some people think that by knowing and being friends with members on a site they are banned on should automatically get them unbanned. x.x You broke the rules, so sorry, you are not getting unbanned just because you are friends with site veteran Joe Two Shoes. If anything, you have more luck being unbanned by being respectful and understanding the staff's decision. You get a lot more appreciation for that and respect for being able to say "I respect your decision." Naturally, I am excluding false bans and people who just ban cause they wanted to ban that person. In those situations, honestly, it is better to leave in my opinion.

Hey there, ! Perhaps The Duality of Man could provide a comfortable home for your role-play craving soul? We are an animanga modern fantasy role-play with a laid method activity requirements. We have no posting thresholds, instead opting to have a bi-monthly activity check; staff DMs/PMs are also open as an alternative method for unexpected inactivity. Slow posting is acceptable! I myself can be a slow poster, so I am sure nobody would mind in our friendly little community! c:

On the downside, we are a ProBoards site, so I understand if that is an issue. Furthermore, we do have a 50 word count for posts then the appearance and history sections on the application require at least 1 five sentence paragraph. Those are the only length related requirements we have and they are more designed to stave away dreaded one-liners. Otherwise, length is not a concern on TDOM with our players gladly taking the posts handed to them!

We do accept original art on TDOM, all we ask is to know the artist(s) name/alias (even if it is your own) and have a gallery (DeviantArt, Pixiv, etc.) to link back to. We do ask that original art is fully coloured.

TDOM’s setting is in the real world, based in Newfoundland, Canada in the fictional city of Lorsette and another fictional village called Aria. We have allowed the flexing of Canadian laws for the sake of interest, furthermore, the site has magic so we try not to be sticklers about where plants grow and such! The most specific flexing of laws is with the weapon-based restrictions seen in Canada so citizens can legally own weapons. We are a chill group, so no worries about any errors!

If you have any questions, you are welcomed to ask for my discord or send them through PM. I will gladly answer anything you may have! Anyways, thank you for your time and consideration! Have a fantastic day!

Plot Synopsis
The Duality of Man is a laid-back role-play set thousands of years after the war between Heaven and Hell (the War of Traitors), a war that tore apart the species. Akari (Heaven’s Goddess) and Volos (Hell’s God) fought for 200 years and decimated the gateway between their realms, Earth. The fight was brutal, with family betraying one another to fight alongside the god they believed in. The battles caused significant damage to Earth, causing Enki (Earth’s God) to search for a way to end the dispute. He pled with Akari and Volos to cease their battle, but neither side would listen. In desperation, Enki contacted Thanatos (Purgatory’s God) and convinced him to assist him in a mission to stop the fighting. The pair were successful and sealed Akari and Volos to their realms, closing the gates and ultimately making it so nobody could leave or enter either dimension. The use of the intense binding magic forced Enki to retreat and fall into a deep sleep while Thanatos returned to his realm. After the devastating war, they could only see the duality between one another.

Thousands of years later, little had changed as a new war has arrived on Earth. A woman named Zeredah searches to cause a widespread revolution, bringing with her horrible creatures called terrors to assist her deeds. She created the Assembly of Phantoms and is bent of separating the species groups to cease the fighting and bring forth a strict rule. To oppose her, the Terror Response Syndicate (TRS) was formed in an attempt to counter her heinous acts. However, with the species only noticing the differences between one another, will dualism conquer, or will they come together to defeat their foes?
