But I'm a sunflower, a little funny
I think I'm going to go buy the nintendo switch and a pokemon game today but holy hell it'll be almost $400 is it worth it thoAll in all, if you're only getting it for Pokemon Let's Go!, I wouldn't do it just yet. However if there's more games coming out that you know you'll be interested in playing, then go for it. This is just going from past experience of my own with the PlayStation Vita. I waited like a solid year for anything good to come out with that and it just kind of functioned as a glorified paperweight for the longest time for me. However, I'm definitely not trying to discourage you from buying a Switch outright, just consider that if you're only getting that game, perhaps wait for the console to go down a bit in price.
As for the Pokemon game itself, I totally do recommend playing it. The flow of it is really nice, but the leveling up is a bit more challenging than its predecessor games. (Pretty much you can't level grind by fighting pokemon in the wild anymore. So fight all the available trainers while you can. But you do get exp for catching wild pokemon.) On top of that, if you have a Pokemon Go account, you can sync that with your Switch and transfer over pokemon from there, which is really convenient in making an effort to fill your pokedex. Of course you can only transfer them once you make it to Fuchsia City. All in all though, the flow of the game is excellent and the storyline is a classic with some extremely minor tweaks, but nothing that ultimately ruins it.
For a return to home console gaming for Pokemon, Let's Go! is definitely about a 7/10 in my book. I mean we've had gen 1 plenty of times, so most of us know the song and dance there like the back of our hands, but the change is challenging and welcoming, a great place for beginners and pokeveterans alike to fit themselves in. So you definitely won't be disappointed with the game itself! And like Ravyn said, the system itself is phenomenal. Though if you plan on playing mostly handheld, I do suggest getting a case to go with it. Just for safekeeping. My husband will also be using it for games he wants so it will definitely go to use. But as of right now because of the price I only bought the one Pokémon game 😜 But thank you, I am excited to play it!
