Hi. Requesting a paid ad for Spellstruck, thank you. also hoping im doing this right.

i.ibb.co/cYdtjn7/spellstruck5.png

Spellstruck is a witch & wizard rp based in the fictional city of Lunaris. For centuries, Lunaris has been hidden under a dome by a protection charm, unseen by humans. It is home to many magicfolk, a sanctuary erected in the aftermath of the witch hunts, as well as the magical world's most prestigious academy to date, Luna Nova. This is where our story begins.

idk quarantine thoughts i guess.

  • deities/gods-personified: think of noragami where they have a human form where they can be seen by people and have to live among them. they also have a transcended version with a physical appearance that is a bit different that they can phase to unlock the full potential of their powers - but only other divine beings can see them. they carry the seed of the god they personify - which means that they can die and are not immune to harm and the seed would find a new home to occupy.

  • metropolitan city: i don't really like small cities or strictly one area or the other but what if it was a metropolitan city where the gods were drawn to (for obvious purposes such as council, or maybe a training grounds to regain powers on new body after death etc) and you can do what-ever you want to do. you can also plot with whoever you wanted to because they can probably sense each other so even the most polar opposites would have a reason to meet?

  • maybe SOL with optional combat: ok i am not imagining this to be a stats-fest or anything too complicated. however, i am imagining them to be able to have a weapon of their chosing that they can summon, and attack with their powers inflicted upon it. (e.g a spear or bow user that can use shadows etc) would probably go DnD style with dice-rolls and allow a lot of overpowered stuff because anime power fantasy but yeah. maybe something like noragami where there would be demons or devils as counterparts? maybe a tournament event? (idk i just watched

  • sandbox/semi-serious: alright i will be honest that i don't expect this to be the most staff-heavy site to be, nor overly complex, but maybe council politics, maybe a semi-school thing, maybe crusaders as guardians, who knows. just what you make it out to be and what you want it to be.

  • soft restrictions: probably deities, myths, superstitions and folklore allowed to be played. if there is a demand humans wouldn't be bad either but its not something i'd love to spread too thin over and have demons, devils, classes, canons and just-- i don't want to overwhelm anyone tbh, just pick something and you should be fine. also thinking one-god-per-character meaning only one apollo etc but who knows if it would bite me later on tbh. (though there are a ton of deities so i am thinking not but??)

i really dont know what i'm writing anymore fam, just find me in dms or vera#0530 on discord ig. this is the most cookie cutter noragami-but-not style of interest check ive ever written.

Not a staffing confession, but in past occasions where I used invisible mode as a member, it was because I owed replies and didn’t want the people I was rping with to see that I’d been online every day after they posted...in case they wondered why I hadn’t posted yet or thought I was ignoring them.

Those were my more paranoid days.

jk I’m still paranoid
same?? i used to be always invisible mode if i am writing a reply because i use "reply" box as my word document. it tells you who i am writing for if you go to "last click"s too so like, why not just hide it in case someone happens to be there and gets expectations.

i still do it when i am working on a post at times because like, i like doing my own thing silently tbh.

I just want to play Fire Emblem really badly, I don't think I'm asking for too much. Hell they'd make a profit if they opened a website for gamers to purchase and play their games that way, then I wouldn't need a new device, only a compatible computer to run them.
You can emulate almost all FE games, including Switch ones, on PC though. Not sure which one you wanna play in particular but that's the way I go about it.

a myths & gods personified/reborn site that is very noragami inspired with the city-part and contained-dungeon-like-combat-events. would probably not take the weapons system to sacrifice making it a bit more sandbox-y.

am willing to help w this tbh but i mainly just have a ton of characters in mind and a ton of inspiration thats all. (small edit. i acc remember a very outdated interest check of mine that had a bit of interest back then but idk now ?? pls let me know )

I miss u Shiv.

giant ass mood me wanting to join but pokemon(??????????????????????????whatamidoing?????????????????????)
actual footage of me looking at pokemon sites:

i lowkey have never seen or played the games so even the boards that don't require in-depth knowledge just overwhelms me so much. its like, every pokemon board lives forever and always have one of least toxic playerbases but i feel so lost just browsing.

Honestly, graphics are the hardest to get right on animanga sites I feel like and they never make it clear what they expect. There are a ton of rules that say "any work of fiction with drawn characters" but then people go "yes but no" on you just because it doesn't fit their tastes.

Like, I remember wanting to use Yennefer a long time ago and the staff DMing me to be like "we require more animanga-like fanart" for this due to eyes/style etc. I ended up crossing out so many of the potential FCs just to avoid this situation that I just re-use the 5-6 FCs everyone else uses nowadays to be on the safe side. God bless recycling touken ranbu for fiftieth time because animanga fcs usually are either kid or senior looking with skipping mid-twenties-to-mid-thirties tbh.

Anyway, the point is, I wish people were more transparent about what they expect from graphics in rules so that we could avoid these situations.

Also, if anyone knows any site where I can use game-art that is not super duper animanga please hit me up, I've been waiting for a site where I can feel safe about that forever.

I will continue to use mixed media and no one can stop me - I like my pretty backgrounds.
You do you, s'all good. xD If it's MFC, I have no problems with it. But if it's an RL FC only site using animanga graphics (or the reverse: an animanga only FC site using RL graphics), it feels like false advertisement. I'm not really into using RL FCs anymore and a few times I've stumbled on these really cute animanga-graphicy forums and yet they only allowed RL FCs. I'm sure people who prefer using RL over animanga FCs feel the same way when they see a forum use RL graphics but only allow animanga FCs. xD

In my opinion, the look of your forum should immediately tell your viewers what its it is bare-basics wise. At an initial glance, animanga graphics is going to look like an animanga FC site. RL graphics is going to look like a RL FC site. Mixed FCs is obviously the most flexible. I guess the best way I can describe it is if a high fantasy book had a super hardcore scifi image as its cover. Scifi lovers will pick it up based on the cover and read the back, but as soon as they see it's high fantasy and not scifi, they'll put the book down and be like "okay, bye." You will, of course, get the occasional person who doesn't care. But for the most part, it's just bad representation.

no offense but saying only rl fcs can use rl graphics or only animanga sites can use animanga graphics reads like gatekeeping. doesnt take more than seeing what kind of fcs they use and click the exit button, let people do whatever they want. its just representative of the sites plot and if they think this image depicts it the best then who cares really.

edit. plot is more important than few images anyway :^)

have u ever learned design by yourself like html/css then did like 5 skins in a row and ton of templates then get a job which requires you to do it almost daily and end up hating it all together? that's me right here. i flaked so hard from my older requests and stuff just because i can't stand seeing code anymore. fun times i guess.

also ever since the quarantine ive been looking at a ton of writing boards, forums and whatnot and i genuinely think a lot of people like the "idea" of writing more than writing itself. there are so many people i see on reddit and stuff that talk about what they'll write about but ask questions like word count, cover, publishing, consistency etc but like, just write dude. if it's fun, you will do it without finding excuses not to do it. sort of why i dont get drama in rp as well though since you are there to write and have fun primarily. like, who cares if someone thats thousands/hundreds of miles away doesn't like me, all I want is my character to interact with theirs because writing is the hobby to me, not socialising. just my two cents though cause im sure there are people who rp to talk to others first and foremost as well, i just cant relate to that.
