BIRD!!!!

I fostered this asshole almost a year ago and now she's BACK

do your research before adopting a parrot pls--they may not get along with your whole family, they will scream, they will bite, and they will be shitheads, so don't adopt unless you're prepared for all that
Awww! What a cutie! It's sad her home fell through.

I love our birds, especially my best friend Pancake who spends all day every day on my shoulder. But so many people who see him being cute or smart tell me how they want a parrot now, and I have to switch from "this is why my baby boi is the cutest, smartest, bestest pet" to "omg NO please, parrots are horrible pets and here is the huge list you'd need to deal with".

I personally miss candles and other scented things, and I usually start with that kind of stuff to convince people to think hard about whether they can handle a bird for their whole lifespans. Since you can tell people how loud and moody they are until you're blue in the face, but until they experience it themselves it's hard to 100% understand. (Even I was guilty of this. I thought I understood until I had our birds and then got a migraine for the first time with them. RIP self). Yet the people I've talked to so far said not being able to spray air fresheners or defuse oils was a deal breaker.

HEY PANCAKE IS A CUTIE??? I saw he's harness trained, too, that's awesome!

I do the same thing, though. I used to give presentations at a zoo-ish place (long story) about parrots. Right after we showed off parrot tricks and how cute they were, I launched into, "Don't get one!" and all the reasons why. I never even thought of mentioning scented candles and diffusers, though. Generally people noped out at the whole toddler-with-pliers-for-lips.

never gonna happen but site invasions would be super cool. whenever a site has a big event everyone jump site hops for that event then scatters afterwards.

DC site doing a brainiac event? everyone in the animanga community joins w/ a whatever character and fights; fills that niche of meta humans rising against world ending.

pokemon site doing a tournament arc? everyone jumps in and 'oh we're trainers from other regions heard this is pretty prestigious'. leave after the event and everyone does their own thing.

fantasy post apoco? evil god gathers bunch of minions (temp new members) that fight against standard site members until they die off.

it's like when a ClIQuE joins a site and brings their own group to the mix but at a community scale for a site event or something. used to love that shit in the summer.

GOD that's such a bitchin idea

I'd love for it to happen, but the logistics involved are just too much :-S

Wow podcasts r great why am i only discovering this. I need a gud audio story suggestionsss

mmmmMMMM not necessarily a story, but one of my fav podcasts atm is called Story Break. Three screenwriters sit down and basically hash out a movie in one hour. The themes are great--they've done a Kirby movie, a Hungry Hungry Hippos movie, a time travel Hitler assassination movie... It's fun to listen to and gives you a little insight on how movies are written.

I'm basically a secretary every other week (despite being hired as a tutor), so at work, I've resorted to making paper cranes. Every time my boss comes over, she stares at the cranes. I'm wondering how many I can make before she says something.

drama is killing the animanga community

#provemewrong

You know how like, when you're a kid, sometimes your toys represent other things? Like that Mario toy you got from McDonald's was a bad guy named Mr. Mustache, or your bald Barbie was a benevolent vet to the family dog, represented by Pinkie Pie missing half her mane?

Animanga RP is like that. You're smacking Bakugo figure and hentai girl figure together and making a story out of it, except sometimes somebody else has a prettier Bakugo figure, so you have to fight over it, only for your dad to come in and tell you your not-Bakugo can't shoot fire out of his hands that fast any more so now dad has to watch you re-play the same scene over again, but better.

i've been in the animanga community my entire rp career. it's a mess, but it's a lovely mess.

College... but with Pokemon.

I need to see a Machoke holding someone up to do a keg stand.
I absolutely would be here for it. Would it be more of a freeform kind of site mechanics-wise? One of the biggest deterrents with me and pokemon sites are the super robust battle/leveling/mechanics aspect. Like it's always well thought out and probably very well done, but its a matter of me not being able to deal with this.

The only stat role plays I'll do involve roll20 and dragons, so yeah, it'd be super freeform. If you (or anybody else reading this) are interested, hit up my DMs. I've got some stuff in the works you might like. O:
